[0:02] Good evening. This is the CBS Evening
[0:03] News for Thanksgiving Day. I'm Charles
[0:05] Kuralt sitting in tonight for Dan
[0:07] Rather.
[0:08] Oliver North, the man said to know many
[0:11] facts about how proceeds from secret US
[0:13] arms sales to Iran got to the contras of
[0:15] Nicaragua, may have destroyed evidence

[1:04] appropriate forum, I will make
[1:06] a full exposition.
[1:08] And I will do so on the advice of my
[1:10] attorney.
[1:11] >> White House Chief of Staff Donald Regan
[1:12] said he did not know if the documents
[1:14] had been shredded, but Regan rejected
[1:16] criticism that the administration should
[1:18] have acted earlier to seal off North's
[1:20] office.
[1:21] >> National Security documents
[1:23] are not in the possession of just one
[1:25] person. There are copies of them and
[1:26] there is a central file and that's n
