[1:07] signaled its approval of the tax cuts
[1:09] passed by the Republican-controlled
[1:11] Congress. The Dow closed at a record
[1:13] high with financial stocks leading the
[1:15] way.
[1:16] The president called the overhaul a
[1:17] Christmas gift. So, what's in it? Chief
[1:20] congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes
[1:22] unwraps the tax package.
[1:24] Talking about massive, massive tax cuts.
[1:27] President Trump is closing in on his
[1:29] first major legislative victory.
[1:32] The yeas are 51.
[1:33] Now that the Senate and House have both
[1:36] passed GOP tax plans.
[1:38] vote, the yeas are 227, the nays are
[1:40] 205.
[1:41] Both bills reduce individual rates
[1:44] across the board while roughly doubling
[1:46] the child tax credit and the standard
[1:49] deduction.
[1:50] In exchange, both plans eliminate
[1:53] deductions for interest on student
[1:55] loans, for state and local income taxes,
