[0:05] >> This is the CBS Evening News with Walter
[0:08] Kankite. And tonight, Campaign 80, the
[0:11] candidates and the Issues. An interview
[0:13] with Democratic candidate Senator Edward
[0:15] Kennedy.
[0:17] >> Good evening. For the second time this
[0:19] week, American reporters have been
[0:20] expelled from a country in crisis. On
[0:23] Monday, Iran, today, Afghanistan. Don

[1:05] extremely gunshy and retreated to some
[1:07] extemporaneous undercover work. American
[1:11] embassy officials were summoned to the
[1:13] hotel and after a brief conference with
[1:15] police and hotel officials, they
[1:17] informed newsmen they did not think
[1:18] there was any problem. It turned out
[1:20] that embassy officials underestimated
[1:22] the situation. For the following day,
[1:24] when a CBS news team tried to board a
[1:27] bus for their next assignment, a
[1:29] policeman warned the driver, an Afghan
[1:31] citizen
