[0:06] You're watching CBS News continuing
[0:08] coverage of Showdown in the Gulf. From
[0:11] CBS News headquarters in New York,
[0:12] here's Charles Osgood and Susan Spencer.
[0:16] >> And here are the headlines in our
[0:18] continuing coverage. Allied armor heads
[0:21] toward Kuwait. The missile war comes to
[0:23] Israel. A second US plane is reported
[0:26] down and Iraq is bombarded for a second
[0:29] straight night. In Saudi Arabia, CBS
[0:32] News correspondents report columns of
[0:35] Allied armor and supplies are heading
[0:37] north, massing along the Kuwait border.

[1:05] the blast did cause considerable damage
[1:07] in Tel Aviv and in other areas on the
[1:10] Mediterranean coast.
[1:12] The Israeli cabinet has been called into
[1:14] emergency session to determine whether
[1:16] or not to retaliate. The world has also
[1:19] seen for the first time what the first
[1:22] night of Allied air attacks looked like
[1:24] in Baghdad.
[1:25] >> So close.
[1:26] >> A production crew from the British ITN
[1:28] news service was there to see it happen.
[1:32] >> But the certainly the battle did light
[1:33] up the skies. The the Iraqi uh ground
[1:36] defense systems I think were actually
[1:37] more pretty than effectiv
