[0:00] Today on Face the Nation, from

[0:02] Wilmington, Delaware, Joe Biden's first

[0:05] interview as vice president. The new

[0:07] administration is not even a week old,

[0:10] but it's moving quickly, outlawing

[0:12] torture, announcing plans to close

[0:15] Guantanamo, and laying the groundwork

[0:18] for a huge plan to get the economy

[0:20] going. When will we begin to see

[0:23] results? That's where we'll start with a

[0:26] new vice president, Joe Biden. Then I'll

[0:29] have a final word on America's real

[0:31] strength. But first, the vice president.

[0:35] >> Face the nation.

[0:44] >> Face the nation with CBS News chief

[0:47] Washington correspondent Bob Schiffer.

[0:49] And now from Wilmington, Delaware, Bob

[0:52] Sheaffer.

[0:55] And good morning again from uh Joe

[0:57] Biden's hometown Wilmington, Delaware.

[1:01] Uh Mr. Vice President, this is your

[1:03] first appearance on Face the Nation as

[1:05] vice president.

[1:06] >> First appearance as vice president.

[1:08] >> We looked it up.

[1:10] >> This is your 53rd appearance on Face the

[1:13] Nation in 36 years in the Senate. Uh

[1:16] it's no surprise that uh you set up

[1:19] quite a record as commuting back and

[1:22] forth from Washington to Wilmington

[1:24] every night when you're in the Senate.

[1:25] I'm told that the roll call figured it

[1:27] up. The Capitol Hill newspaper 7,400

[1:31] round trips

[1:32] >> something like that, Bob.

[1:34] >> In what? 36 years.

[1:35] >> 36 years about in the Senate. So it's no

[1:37] surprise, I guess, that even though you

[1:39] now have an official residence in

[1:40] Washington, here you are taking your

[1:42] first weekend as vice president here in

[1:44] your hometown. Well, my mom still lives

[1:46] here and it's a and it's a short hop and

[1:48] uh
