[0:07] You're watching CBS News continuing
[0:09] coverage of Showdown in the Gulf. From
[0:12] CBS News headquarters in New York, here
[0:14] are Charles Osgood and Susan Spencer.
[0:19] >> Here are the headlines at this hour. Two
[0:21] more American planes have been shot
[0:23] down. Israel debates a response to an
[0:27] Iraqi missile attack. Allied bombs
[0:29] continue to fall on Iraq. Jordan's
[0:32] forces go on high alert. This morning,
[0:35] it is reported that two more US war
[0:37] plananes have been shot down as the
[0:39] Persian Gulf conflict goes on. They are
[0:41] said to be this time an Air Force F-15E

[1:21] very much. It was an attack against
[1:22] civilians. Psychologically, this was
[1:25] traumatic. This is the first time since
[1:27] 1967 that Israel's airspace has been
[1:30] violated.
[1:32] Israel's neighbor, Jordan, has put its
[1:34] troops on their highest alert since the
[1:35] 1967 war. Jordanian leaders say they
[1:39] fear a severe Israeli response to the
[1:42] missile attack. US forces have launched
[1:45] their own response to the attac
