[0:21] in Washington that the US government

[0:24] possibly at the White House expects to

[0:25] make an announcement sometime over the

[0:27] next 25 minutes to half hour of about

[0:30] the situation in Panama this is as much

[0:32] as we know at the moment this comes amid

[0:35] mounting tension in Panama and reports

[0:37] of extensive US military movements into

[0:40] that country the Pentagon has confirmed

[0:42] nothing officially but Panama accused

[0:44] the United States tonight of violating

[0:46] its airspace with observation planes and

[0:48] helicopters in preparation for military

[0:50] action frequent movements of US troops

[0:53] and Equipment have been seen within US

[0:55] military bases in Panama over the last 3

[0:57] days and they appeared to escalate in

[0:59] the last 24 hours and especially in the

[1:01] last few hours the US has been trying to

[1:04] OU Panama's military ruler Manuel noro

[1:06] for nearly two years tensions reached a

[1:08] new high in the last few days with

[1:10] Panama declaring a state of war against

[1:12] the US and then with a series of violent

[1:15] confrontations including one in which a

[1:17] US military officer was shot and killed

[1:20] repeating CBS News has been told in

[1:22] Washington that a US Government

[1:23] statement about the situation in Panama

[1:25] can be expected over the next 25 to 30

[1:28] minutes possibly coming from the the
