[0:12] >> On World News Tonight this Tuesday, the

[0:15] government tightens security at US

[0:17] airports amid worries about terrorism

[0:19] during the holidays. Another

[0:21] record-breaking day on Wall Street, the

[0:23] largest one-day gain ever for the

[0:25] NASDAQ. Air traffic control tapes from

[0:28] last summer's crash in Little Rock. Why

[0:30] did the pilots try to land on such a

[0:32] stormy night? And a new report on how

[0:35] doctors communicate with patients. What

[0:38] your doctor isn't telling you can be

[0:40] harmful to your health.

[0:48] From ABC News World Headquarters in New

[0:51] York, this is World News Tonight with

[0:54] Peter Jennings. Sitting in tonight,

[0:57] Connie Chung.

[0:59] >> Good evening. There are real concerns at

[1:01] the highest levels of the United States

[1:03] government tonight. Concerns that

[1:05] terrorist attacks could be a genuine

[1:07] threat to Americans celebrating the

[1:09] millennium. These worries come a week

[1:11] after an Algerian man was caught trying

[1:13] to enter Washington state with

[1:14] ingredients for a large bomb.

[1:17] Investigators have linked the man to a

[1:18] violent terrorist group. Security has

[1:21] already been tightened on the nation's

[1:22] borders. Now, the alert has spread to

[1:25] the nation's airports. ABC's Terry Moran

[1:28] has details.

[1:30] >> The FAA is telling airport authorities

[1:32] to redouble the already stringent

[1:34] security procedures at the nation's

[1:36] airports. For passengers, that means

[1:38] more police, stricter enforcement of

[1:40] parking rules, more dogs, and more bag

[1:43] searches.
