[0:00] You never know who's going to pop up
[0:02] with Alan tomorrow at 4 on Coin News 6.
[0:06] >> Today on Face the Nation, Hurricane
[0:08] Katrina is bad and getting worse as it
[0:10] bears down on New Orleans. And what
[0:13] about Iraq? Has it become another
[0:16] Vietnam? We'll talk about that with
[0:18] Senator John McCain. Early today, Iraq's
[0:21] negotiators finally drafted a
[0:23] constitution and sent it to the
[0:25] parliament. But the parliament adjourned
[0:27] without voting on it. Is it already
[0:29] doomed? Can the Sunnis sect minority be
[0:32] convinced to go along? They say no. What
[0:35] happens if they don't? We'll get the
[0:37] latest from CBS News correspondent Laura
[0:40] Logan in Baghdad. And then we'll talk
[0:42] with Senator John McCain. Mike Duffy of
[0:45] Time magazine will join in the questions
[0:47] and I'll have a final word on why I've
[0:50] lost faith in the meeting. Well sorted.
[0:53] But first, the hurricane and Iraq face
[0:56] the nation.
[1:06] Face the nation with CBS News chief
[1:08] Washington correspondent Bob Schaefer.
[1:11] And now from CBS News in Washington, Bob
[1:15] Sheaffer.
[1:15] >> And good morning again. We are starting
[1:17] with Hurricane Katrina this morning
[1:19] because it has literally gone from bad
[1:22] to worse. It's now a category 5. That
[1:24] means winds of 160 m an hour. It's out
[1:28] in the Gulf due to hit land tomorrow
[1:31] sometimes and New Orleans is right in
[1:34] its path. Uh Dr. Ed Rapapore, the deputy
[1:37] director of the National Hurricane
[1:39] Center is with us. And doctor, if this
[1:40] thing hits land at 160 m an hour, it
[1:44] could be catastrophic.
[1:45] >> That's correct. And in fact, category 5
[1:47] is considered potentially catastrophi
