[0:50] good evening the first hurricane of the
[0:53] season is on a collision course with the
[0:55] East Coast here's the view from space
[0:57] Irene looks like an organized storm
[1:00] around a well-defined eye this is the
[1:03] track the past 12 hours the hurricane
[1:06] has grown to a category three
[1:08] 120 mile an hour winds and heavy rain
[1:11] have damaged homes knocked out power and
[1:14] touched off flooding on Caribbean
[1:16] islands Irene is on track to hit the
[1:19] East Coast this weekend from North
[1:21] Carolina to New York we have
[1:23] correspondence in the hurricane Zone
[1:25] tonight first Mark Strassman in
[1:28] Wrightsville Beach North Carolina
[1:31] off North Carolina's Coast Scott
[1:34] evacuations began before Daybreak and
[1:36] with each passing hour more people are
[1:39] leaving as Irene moves closer the first
[1:41] major hurricane on the east coast in
[1:43] years
[1:47] with a new generator and groceries
[1:49] Patricia Cardwell is afraid Irene could
[1:52] be North Carolina's Katrina I'm here by
