[1:33] hopefully you got your bible out we're

[1:34] beginning in verse one

[1:36] and the fifth angel sounded and i saw a

[1:39] star

[1:40] fall from heaven unto the earth and

[1:43] to him was given the key

[1:46] of the bottomless pit now in the last

[1:49] chapter of revelation chapter 8 we also

[1:52] talked about a star

[1:53] falling from heaven and that one being

[1:55] wormwood but this one's

[1:57] different this is an actual person

[2:00] and so has there ever been something

[2:02] fallen from heaven

[2:04] that was a person and we know yes fallen

[2:07] angels have fallen in fact in isaiah 14

[2:10] 12 the bible says how art thou fallen

[2:13] from heaven

[2:14] o lucifer son of the morning how art

[2:16] thou cut down to the ground which just

[2:18] weakened the nations and so

[2:20] we know here in chapter 9 verse number 1

[2:24] this is dealing with a fallen angel it

[2:27] continues on and it said unto him

[2:29] was given the key to the bottomless pit

[2:33] now it's interesting to point out that

[2:36] we know who has the keys

[2:37] in revelation 1 18 jesus said i am he

[2:41] that liveth and was dead and behold

[2:43] i am alive forevermore amen and

[2:46] have the keys of hell and of death and

[2:50] so

[2:50] christ has the keys so this fallen angel

[2:54] is given the key to the bottomless pit

[2:57] or the place we call hell

[2:59] to open it up so let's read what happens

[3:02] when he does that verse two

[3:04] and he opened the bottomless pit and

[3:06] there arose smoke out of the pit

[3:09] and the smoke of a great furnace and the

[3:12] sun and

[3:12] air were darkened by reason of the smoke

[3:15] of the pit

[3:17] and there came out of the smoke locust

[3:20] upon the earth

[3:21] and under them was given power as the

[3:23] scorpions of earth have power we're

[3:25] going to pause there

[3:27] but i want you to go back to verse 2. he

[3:30] opened the bottomless pit and there i

[3:31] wrote smoke out of the pit

[3:33] a smoke of a great furnace and the sun

[3:35] and air was darkened

[3:37] by reason of the smoke of it you know it

[3:40] kind of reminds me of cape canaveral in

[3:42] florida when they have the rocket

[3:44] launches

[3:44] and years ago when they were launching

[3:47] the space shuttles and you would

[3:49] see that five four three two one blast

[3:52] off and the smoke that would just billow

[3:55] out

[3:55] and would just fill the area and around

[3:58] that's what happens

[3:59] when this angel opens up the bottomless

[4:01] pit all the smoke and fire

[4:04] comes out and it covers

[4:07] the earth it darkens this view that area

[4:10] is darkened

[4:12] by reason of the smoke of the pit and so

[4:15] these

[4:15] locusts come out that have the power of

[4:19] scorpions verse number four

[4:21] it was commanded them that they should

[4:23] not hurt the grass of the earth

[4:25] neither any green thing neither any tree

[4:29] but only those men which have not the

[4:32] seal of god in their foreheads

[4:34] and to them it was given that they

[4:36] should not kill them

[4:38] that they should be tormented five

[4:40] months

[4:41] and their torment was as the torment of

[4:43] a scorpion

[4:45] when he striketh a man

[4:48] so we're we're finding out here these

[4:51] creatures

[4:51] that we're gonna describe what they are

[4:54] here in just a little bit but

[4:55] for right now we're going to say these

[4:57] demonic creatures

[4:59] from hell come out of hell and begin to

[5:03] afflict mankind

[5:04] now you'll notice they're given some

[5:06] restrictions they are locust like

[5:08] creatures but yet they're not eating the

[5:10] green grass

[5:12] they're not eating the grass that is

[5:14] green now

[5:16] remember back in chapter number eight

[5:18] that

[5:19] the green grass was destroyed

[5:24] under the first trumpets there the

[5:26] judgment of the green grass so

[5:29] all green grass was destroyed so now

[5:31] it's

[5:32] come back so we're going to talk a

[5:33] little bit more about that as well

[5:36] you'll notice who they can not hurt

[5:39] they're like scorpions they're going to

[5:41] be stinging but

[5:42] they cannot hurt those that have the

[5:44] seal of god in their foreheads

[5:46] in chapter 7 we noticed that the 144

[5:50] 000 were sealed by god in their

[5:53] foreheads

[5:54] you'll notice also that they're

[5:55] tormented five months now five months is

[5:58] the

[5:59] typical life cycle of a locust and so

[6:02] they have locus like characteristics

[6:04] scorpion like characteristics now

[6:07] it gets worse let's continue reading on

[6:10] in verse 6 and in those days

[6:12] shall men seek death and shall not find

[6:15] it

[6:16] and shall desire to die and death shall

[6:19] flee from them

[6:21] so it's going to be so bad that men are

[6:23] going to wish to die but they will not

[6:25] be able to

[6:26] verse 7 the shape of the locusts now

[6:30] you've seen little locusts that's not

[6:32] what these things are let's look at

[6:34] verse seven

[6:35] the shape of the locusts were likened to

[6:37] horses

[6:38] horses prepared unto battle

[6:41] and on their heads whereas it were

[6:43] crowns like gold

[6:45] and their faces were as the faces of men

[6:48] they had the hair hair as of women their

[6:51] teeth were like the teeth of lions

[6:53] they had breastplates as there were

[6:55] breastplates of iron

[6:57] and the sound of their wings was as the

[6:59] sound of chariots

[7:00] of many horses running to battle you

[7:03] could hear them coming

[7:04] verse 10 and they had tails like into

[7:06] scorpions

[7:08] and there were stings in their tails and

[7:10] their power was to hurt men

[7:12] five months verse 11

[7:16] and they had a king over them these

[7:17] creatures these demonic creatures that

[7:19] come out

[7:20] have a king over them which is the angel

[7:23] of the bottomless pit now it's

[7:24] interesting

[7:26] when you read that you say oh they have

[7:28] a king over them but i want you to know

[7:29] something in proverbs 30

[7:31] verse 27 the bible says the locusts have

[7:34] no king

[7:35] yet they go forth all of them by ban so

[7:38] the locust is driven

[7:40] by his desired for vegetation

[7:44] but not in this situation these locusts

[7:46] are commanded

[7:48] by a king by a general who oversees them

[7:52] these this king and now who is this king

[7:54] he's the angel of the bottomless pit

[7:57] whose name in the hebrew tongue is habat

[7:59] on but in the greek ton hath his name

[8:01] apollyon one woe was passed at the end

[8:05] of chapter eight

[8:06] we talked about there were three woes

[8:10] what was past and behold there come two

[8:14] woes more hereafter and so as we're

[8:17] continuing on now

[8:18] beginning in verse number one we talked

[8:21] about this star following this fallen

[8:23] angel

[8:25] now you'll notice he's given the key he

[8:27] doesn't own the key

[8:29] he doesn't have possession of the key

[8:31] he's given the key

[8:33] now some people believe that this angel

[8:36] this fallen angel

[8:37] they believe it to be satan some believe

[8:40] it to be a fallen angel

[8:42] that is given a specific task of opening

[8:45] up the bottomless pit

[8:47] either way it is definitely

[8:50] a fallen angel it could be satan

[8:53] but it also could be just a fallen angel

[8:56] who has the responsibility

[8:58] to open up the bottomless pit and then

[9:00] take the keys

[9:01] back and give them back to god we know

[9:04] in revelation

[9:05] chapter number 12 that satan is kicked

[9:08] out of heaven

[9:09] and he is no longer allowed there

[9:12] because right now

[9:13] he daily accuses the brethren

[9:16] before god so satan accuses you and i as

[9:20] christians

[9:21] about our behavior our actions our

[9:23] character before

[9:24] god but in revelation chapter 12 that's

[9:27] going to stop he's going to be kicked

[9:29] out

[9:29] there'll be no more accusing the

[9:32] brethren

[9:33] now it's interesting to point out that

[9:35] in revelation chapter 20 verse 1

[9:38] in revelation 20 verse 1 i'll read that

[9:40] verse to you it says and i saw an angel

[9:42] come down from heaven

[9:44] having the key of the bottomless pit and

[9:46] a great chain in his hand now verses 2

[9:48] and 3 tells us what he does

[9:50] he binds satan and he casts him into the

[9:53] bottomless pit and he locks him up

[9:55] and so here there's another angel comes

[9:58] down now you'll notice the difference

[9:59] between 20 verse 1

[10:01] and chapter 9 verse 1 chapter 9 verse 1

[10:04] the angel falls in chapter 20 verse 1

[10:07] the angel comes down

[10:09] there's references in the bible to

[10:11] fallen angels

[10:13] angels falling and then there's

[10:14] references in the bible to angels

[10:16] coming down angels that coming down

[10:19] represent

[10:20] godly angels angels that fall

[10:23] representing

[10:24] demonic angels so we find here

[10:27] that there is this creature now the

[10:30] bible also tells us that when satan fell

[10:32] that a third of the host of heaven what

[10:34] did it say

[10:35] fell with him and so we've got these

[10:38] demonic forces

[10:39] so whether it's satan or whether it's a

[10:41] fallen angel

[10:43] those there's not a definitive answer

[10:45] those are two

[10:46] different possibilities there but we

[10:48] definitely know it's a fallen angel

[10:51] now look what he does he opens the

[10:53] bottomless pit

[10:54] and these demonic creatures come out of

[10:56] hell now

[10:57] you say well preacher if hell's in the

[11:00] heart of the earth how is it bottomless

[11:03] well i don't have time to explain all

[11:04] the scientific details

[11:06] but with the rotation of the earth and

[11:08] the gravitational pull

[11:10] it would feel like you're falling

[11:11] constantly and hitting the sides and you

[11:13] never reach

[11:14] the bottom is just the spin of the earth

[11:17] and everything else that's there so

[11:18] it would feel like a bottomless pit and

[11:21] so you

[11:22] never experience the bottom you never

[11:24] ceases the punishment there

[11:26] now you'll notice that these forces

[11:29] these creatures crawl out of here

[11:31] and they have this desire not to hurt

[11:35] the grass

[11:36] which is growing back after the first

[11:38] truck judgment we saw

[11:40] it was all burn up all green grass was

[11:42] destroyed

[11:43] but now green grass has returned here in

[11:46] chapter number nine

[11:48] so between chapter eight and chapter

[11:50] nine there's time that goes by

[11:52] now we live in the great state of

[11:53] oklahoma and in oklahoma

[11:56] there have been times i've been driving

[11:58] down the interstate and went whoa

[12:00] that field is on fire what's going on

[12:02] now sometimes it's been a wildfire

[12:05] but other times it's been this thing

[12:07] called a controlled

[12:08] fire burn and farmers will do this often

[12:11] they'll burn off that

[12:13] and then they'll go back and replant and

[12:15] have great

[12:16] results from that and so if you've seen

[12:19] that in oklahoma you kind of

[12:21] understand what this happened here the

[12:24] fire

[12:24] destroyed green grass in chapter eight

[12:27] but now it's starting to grow back and

[12:29] it's grown back so there's this green

[12:31] grass that's here

[12:33] and it the notice also that it the 144

[12:37] 000 are spared

[12:38] it said in verse number four only those

[12:40] men which have not the seal of god

[12:43] in their foreheads so the 144 000 are

[12:45] untouchable

[12:46] by these demonic forces and

[12:50] everyone else could have the opportunity

[12:51] to be tormented

[12:53] and hurt but not killed it said that

[12:56] they're tormented

[12:57] they could not be killed there's no

[12:59] death that comes to them

[13:01] there's no death for this time frame

[13:03] here

[13:04] now the description of these locusts

[13:06] they're like horses

[13:07] prepared for battle that's a large

[13:09] creature a horse is

[13:11] there's a crown about them there's

[13:13] humanoid faces they look like humans in

[13:16] the face

[13:17] look like a man they have hair like a

[13:20] woman

[13:21] teeth like a lion the lion's teeth are

[13:23] so

[13:24] such amazing in fact if a lion loses its

[13:27] tooth

[13:28] it has what is called marching molars a

[13:30] description that

[13:32] there's teeth that grow in the back and

[13:33] they move forward

[13:35] when a tooth is missing in the front

[13:37] they just move forward and replace and

[13:38] they just keep coming

[13:40] forward and forward it's an interesting

[13:42] thought has nothing to do with what

[13:44] we're talking about

[13:44] but i just wanted you to know teeth like

[13:47] a lion

[13:48] they had breastplates of iron the sound

[13:51] of their wings were the sounds of

[13:52] chariots with many horses you could hear

[13:54] them coming

[13:56] and the sounds that are there and the

[13:59] tales

[14:00] of scorpions and they were had stings in

[14:03] their tails so they're stinging men now

[14:05] these creatures they would surround

[14:07] people they would

[14:08] corner them in and attack them now

[14:11] you're going to hear all sorts of things

[14:13] in this world

[14:14] you're going to hear people that say oh

[14:15] this is a helicopter

[14:17] it's this creature that this is a

[14:19] helicopter john couldn't describe it any

[14:21] other way

[14:22] but then a helicopter and that might be

[14:24] the case

[14:26] but i don't think so i think the bible

[14:28] is being exactly

[14:30] literal in what this is this is a

[14:32] demonic creature

[14:33] that crawls out of the bottomless pit

[14:36] and attacks

[14:37] people here upon the earth and so it

[14:40] hurts men the five months

[14:42] referencing the life cycle of a locust

[14:45] now it says there's a king over them

[14:47] he's the angel of the bottomless pit

[14:50] this this king over them who controls

[14:53] these creatures now

[14:54] some say now this is satan and

[14:57] some say that it's satan and one in fact

[14:59] i i read a couple different authors who

[15:02] said that

[15:02] well because he's got the key it must be

[15:05] christ well i don't see

[15:06] jesus christ falling from heaven

[15:10] he would come down he wouldn't fall down

[15:13] and we find here that this is definitely

[15:16] in chapter

[15:16] nine verse one a fallen angel so now we

[15:19] have the king over them

[15:21] the angel the bottomless pit now the

[15:23] word obeyed on and the word apollyon in

[15:25] greek

[15:25] and in hebrew they both mean destroyer

[15:29] now some believe this is to be satan and

[15:32] some believe it's a

[15:34] specific angel that's given the task of

[15:36] leading

[15:37] this army of demonic creatures now as

[15:41] a pastor i i've been studying and i look

[15:43] at both of these things now

[15:45] satan is a destroyer that's what his

[15:48] desire is to do

[15:49] but every demonic force wants to destroy

[15:53] as well

[15:54] so i can't say definitively that it is

[15:58] satan

[15:59] i lean toward the position that it's a

[16:01] specific

[16:02] angel that is given the control of this

[16:05] army and this army is under his control

[16:09] so i lean to that position that it's a

[16:11] specific angel whose name

[16:13] is apollyon and that's his

[16:15] responsibility to lead this

[16:17] army of demonic creatures as they attack

[16:21] mankind and they torment men for a

[16:24] period of time

[16:26] you'll notice it says one woe is past

[16:29] but there are two more to come now in

[16:31] the timeline of revelation

[16:34] we're not even to the midway point yet

[16:36] of the tribulation period

[16:38] we've had the seal judgments and then

[16:40] the seventh seal

[16:42] has been the trumpet judgments and we're

[16:45] in trumpet number five

[16:46] it's getting worse and worse in fact

[16:49] we're nearing

[16:50] the middle now in my estimation of the

[16:53] time frame

[16:54] we're nearing the middle of the

[16:56] tribulation period it's coming soon and

[16:58] after the middle it gets much

[17:01] much worse and so i want to remind you

[17:05] though

[17:06] that when you're reading the book of

[17:08] revelation

[17:09] it is not always in chronological

[17:13] order in other words yes chapter seven

[17:17] comes after chapter eight and chapter

[17:20] eight then

[17:20] chapter nine and chapter nine then

[17:22] chapter ten

[17:23] but doesn't mean that what's in chapter

[17:26] 10 comes

[17:27] right after what you read in chapter

[17:29] nine in fact chapter 10

[17:31] 11 and part of chapter 12 are what we

[17:34] call parenthetical

[17:35] chapters they're inserted for us

[17:38] to understand what is happening

[17:41] in the whole big picture but they may

[17:44] not necessarily be

[17:46] in the exact chronological order

[17:49] of following these trumpet judgments

[17:52] but my friend i want you to understand

[17:54] there's gonna come

[17:55] something that happens here on the earth

[17:58] that would be described as hell

[18:00] on earth and it's this first fifth

[18:03] trumpet

[18:04] that starts to lease these demonic

[18:06] creatures

[18:07] yes we can always interpret scripture

[18:09] from today

[18:11] but always interpret scripture as

[18:14] scripture for itself the best commentary

[18:16] on the bible is the bible now i'm

[18:19] thankful i'm going to be in heaven i'm

[18:20] not going to see these creatures face to

[18:22] face i'm not going to be stung

[18:24] by a scorpion locust with the shape of a

[18:27] body of a horse and a face of a man i'm

[18:30] not going to have to deal with that i'm

[18:31] going to be in heaven with god

[18:33] singing praises to him but those of you

[18:36] who do not know the lord who may be

[18:37] checking out this video

[18:38] it's going to be bad it's going to be

[18:41] awful here on earth

[18:42] and during this trumpet judgment it

[18:44] begins to get much

[18:45] much worse we want to thank you for
