[0:00] No jobs. We visited a restaurant with
[0:03] nothing to serve despite the grandiose
[0:06] menu on the wall.
[0:07] >> How old is this?
[0:10] >> Now I think
[0:13] 15 15 years.
[0:14] >> 15 years.
[0:15] >> Yeah. 15 years.
[0:17] >> So that food hasn't been served here in
[0:18] a long time.
[0:19] >> A long time.
[0:21] >> This is one of the main east west
[0:22] highways in the country and there's not
[0:24] a single car on it. There's not even
[0:26] people walking by the side of the road.
[0:28] Part of the reason is people don't have
[0:30] the money to buy gasoline to drive their
[0:32] cars. But it's also a measure of the
[0:34] fear the crackdown has driven people
[0:37] into their homes.
[0:39] They have good reason. Government thugs
[0:41] are now hunting down Zimbabweans who
[0:44] can't prove they voted for Mugabi.
[0:46] Mugabi has now drawn near unanimous
[0:48] condemnation from the West.
[0:50] >> The sham election there is likely only
[0:52] to bring more misery and perhaps
[0:55] violence. uh and we believe that it is
[0:58] really now time for the international
[0:59] community to act strongly.
[1:02] >> But many believe Zimbabwe's own
[1:03] neighbors carry the most weight.
[1:05] >> If uh you were to have a unanimous voice
[1:09] saying quite clearly to Mr. Bugabi, you
[1:12] are unwelcome
[1:15] uh any any longer. you are you are
[1:19] illegitimate and we will not recognize
[1:22] your administration in any uh shape or
[1:26] form. I think that that would be a very
[1:28] very powerful signal.
[1:31] >> The next chance is African Union summit
[1:33] in Egypt. Bugabi made sure he'll arrive
[1:36] there as his country's newly inaugurated
[1:38] president. The question now is whether
[1:40] his African counterparts will accept
[1:43] him. Jim Shudo, ABC News, Hang
