[2:25] the attitude of worship giving God the

[2:27] glory and everything that's done this

[2:28] morning I hope and pray that you've been

[2:31] prayed up that God would move in our

[2:33] congregation that God would work and

[2:36] that God would do what he needs to do we

[2:37] thank God for all the Bus kids we got

[2:40] out all the church kids we have a good

[2:42] group back here they're excited they're

[2:43] even waving at me I love it amen amen I

[2:46] thank God for that thank God for

[2:48] everything he's doing thank God for this

[2:50] week that he's blessed us somebody's

[2:52] really over excited now but anyway uh we

[2:56] want to thank God and as we start off

[2:57] every week uh if you all will stand with

[3:02] going to be looking at Colossians

[3:05] 3:16 if you can if you'd like please uh

[3:11] Colossians 3 the word of God says this

[3:14] let the word of Christ dwell in you

[3:17] richly in all wisdom teaching and

[3:21] admonishing one another in Psalms and

[3:24] hymns and spiritual songs singing with

[3:28] Grace in your hearts to the Lord people

[3:32] if you read that it said teaching and

[3:34] admonishing one one another it's a it's

[3:38] a family thing it's a God thing it's a

[3:41] church thing that we need to understand

[3:43] that we're here to lift each other up

[3:46] we're here to sing to God and right

[3:49] there where it says U singing with Grace

[3:53] in your hearts to the Lord that can only

[3:56] come with an attitude of worship that

[3:59] can only come with your walk with God

[4:01] being right outside of that you can't

[4:04] come close to this verse so I pray that

[4:07] everybody's prayed up this morning that

[4:09] God be glorified in everything that's

[4:11] done this morning and he gets the glory

[4:14] let us pray this time father God we

[4:16] thank you we thank you for the week that

[4:19] you've allowed us to come through father

[4:20] and providing for us all week dear Lord

[4:23] we thank you for what you've done with

[4:24] and what you're doing in our church

[4:26] father we thank you for the faithfulness

[4:29] the Bus kids we thank you for the

[4:31] faithfulness of the workers father that

[4:33] are here father for the teaching of your

[4:35] word father and we thank you Father for

[4:37] our pastor father and everything he's

[4:39] done we ask that you strengthen Him

[4:40] Father to to preach your word this

[4:42] morning that you hide him behind the

[4:44] cross father let the words of God flow

[4:45] through Him Father use him as a vessel

[4:48] father unto you father to give you the

[4:50] glory and the honor father I pray dear

[4:52] Lord that every heart that's in here

[4:54] father will be receptive to your word in

[4:55] a mighty way dear Lord because outside

[17:35] really need to get that there's a lot of

[17:38] good stuff in there on prayer be a help

[17:40] to you an encouragement so I encourage

[17:42] you to pick that up today uh on your way

[18:13] alone wondering why God left me here to

[18:17] struggle on my

[18:20] own I thought of all the verses and the

[18:25] scriptures I had read how we prom prom

[22:19] battling we're going to look at this

[22:21] morning building and battling in

[22:23] spiritual

[22:24] warfare spiritual warfare it's real

[22:29] we all face it we all deal with it and

[22:33] God wants us to build and battle

[22:36] ourselves in how to handle spiritual

[22:39] warfare and so if you're able to would

[22:41] you please stand and honor the word of

[22:42] God as we read Ephesians 6: 10 through

[22:46] 18 this morning Ephesians chapter 6:

[22:50] 10-8 this

[22:53] morning Apostle Paul writes finally my

[22:57] brethren be strong in the Lord and in

[23:01] the power of His might put on the whole

[23:04] armor of God that ye may be able to

[23:07] stand against the Ws of the devil for we

[23:12] wrestle not against flesh and blood but

[23:14] against principalities against Powers

[23:17] against the rulers of Darkness of this

[23:19] world against spiritual wickedness in

[23:23] high

[23:24] places wherefore take unto you the whole

[23:28] Armor of God that ye may be able to

[23:32] withstand in the evil day and having

[23:35] done all to stand stand therefore having

[23:39] your loins G about with truth having on

[23:42] the breastplate of righteousness your

[23:45] feet Shaw with the preparation of the

[23:47] gospel of peace above all taking the

[23:50] shield of Faith wherewith ye shall be

[23:53] able to quench all the fiery darts of

[23:56] the wicked and take the helmet of

[23:59] salvation and the sword of the spirit

[24:08] period there's another part of the armor

[24:11] another part of the Weaponry praying

[24:15] always with all prayer and supplication

[24:32] Saints Paul continues on the thought and

[24:34] for for me that utterance may be given

[24:36] unto me that I may open my mouth boldly

[24:39] to make known The Mystery of the gospel

[24:41] for sentence structure we continue to

[24:43] verse 19 we're going to focus

[24:45] on verses 10 through 18

[24:49] today God wants you to build and

[24:53] battle we got to build up the

[24:56] armor we got to battle with the weapon

[24:59] we've got two and we're going to look at

[25:01] them this

[25:02] morning you can't just be

[25:05] defensive in spiritual

[25:07] warfare you must also be

[25:10] offensive you must be on the offense

[25:14] against the enemy and so we're going to

[25:16] look at that this morning so let's have

[25:19] a word of prayer and then we'll be

[25:20] seated this morning dear heavenly father

[25:22] Lord we humbly ask for

[25:25] you to work in our service

[25:29] today Lord as we prayed in prayer

[25:31] meeting this morning that you would bind

[25:34] Satan and keep him far from this place

[25:37] Lord he would love to interrupt what

[25:40] you're trying to do here and Lord I pray

[25:43] today that you would hinder him you

[25:47] would quench him Lord I pray there have

[25:50] been prayers of the Saints already

[25:53] today asking begging you Lord Keep Satan

[25:58] out of it that you may be glorified

[26:02] today Lord I pray if you would please

[26:04] cleanse me of sin Empty Me of

[26:10] myself that I might be out of the way

[26:13] and behind the cross

[26:15] today Lord work mightily in our services

[26:19] in your name I pray amen thank you for

[26:22] standing you may be

[26:26] seated spiritual

[26:29] Warfare it's

[26:34] real you you can't see it right now but

[26:37] it's happening in this

[26:39] room it's

[26:41] real the forces of God and the forces of

[26:45] the enemy that the devil are combating

[26:49] today and we'll be combating all

[26:52] throughout the next 40 minutes of our

[26:55] service there will be a spiritual battle

[26:58] taking place because God is trying to do

[27:01] spiritual things in people's lives today

[27:04] and Satan doesn't like that every time

[27:07] God's people are gathered it's a battle

[27:09] scene now I love studying history I love

[27:13] especially the Civil War time frame I

[27:16] enjoyed as a teenager times that uh we

[27:19] go out and I grew up in a pastor's home

[27:23] and so our family vacations were

[27:25] centered around my dad preaching a

[27:27] Revival

[27:29] meeting so my dad would preach a Revival

[27:31] meeting like Sunday through Wednesday

[27:34] and then Thursday Friday Saturday would

[27:36] be our family vacation and so growing up

[27:40] uh for the first 10 years of my life in

[27:41] the Georgia area there's a lot of scenes

[27:44] from the Civil War in the Georgia

[27:46] Tennessee area uh we've been to a lot of

[27:49] those scenes and seen a lot of things

[27:50] there I've been to Fort tond deroga and

[27:53] some of the other Battlefront scenes and

[27:56] so we had opportunities there and uh the

[27:58] one time the one time we took a family

[28:01] vacation during my teenage years that my

[28:04] dad wasn't having a preaching Revival

[28:06] meeting that he was preaching out we did

[28:08] it one time one time we took off and he

[28:12] we left on a Saturday he said we're

[28:14] going to go to this place spend the

[28:15] night Saturday and then we're going to

[28:17] go to a church a couple churches on

[28:19] Sunday because even when you're on

[28:21] vacation y'all still go to

[28:23] church and then the rest of the week

[28:25] we're going to have our family

[28:27] vacation so we're all

[28:29] excited you know cuz when we went to

[28:31] Revival meeting you know we we got to be

[28:33] at Revival meeting but we also served

[28:35] cuz we our family a lot of us sang and

[28:37] so we'd sing and do different things and

[28:40] being a pastor's kid you were used as

[28:41] illustrations often and sometimes

[28:44] physical illustrations and so there was

[28:46] times that we'd get involved in the

[28:48] service but we went and so we're driving

[28:51] down the

[28:52] interstate and we see a sign for a

[28:54] Independent Baptist Church my dad said

[28:55] we're going to go there so we're going

[28:57] to go to church this morning he this was

[28:59] the only vacation he had not planned out

[29:01] ahead of time where we were going to go

[29:03] to

[29:04] church so we pull into this church we

[29:06] come in during Sunday school now we're

[29:07] all dressed for

[29:09] church so we're we're all dressed for

[29:11] church so we come in for Sunday school

[29:13] and they they had one uh Adult class

[29:16] going on and since we didn't know where

[29:17] all the other classes were at we just

[29:19] kind of came in and sat down about the

[29:21] third or fourth row my dad's in his suit

[29:24] I'm in my suit my brother's in his suit

[29:25] we're all dressed up for church

[29:28] after Sunday school the pastor comes

[29:30] down and he says to my dad he says are

[29:32] you a

[29:33] preacher he saysi am he goes what are

[29:37] you doing he goes well we're on vacation

[29:39] and we're just traveling through he goes

[29:41] I think God wants you to preach this

[29:46] morning and so my dad you give a

[29:49] preacher an opportunity to preach

[29:50] they'll take

[29:52] it so he says okay I'll take that and he

[29:54] he preached that

[29:56] morning had three or four people accept

[29:59] Christ as their savior that day Pastor

[30:01] is all excited he comes to my dad goes

[30:03] preacher I think God wants you to start

[30:05] Revival meeting this

[30:06] week I think he wants you to preach

[30:08] Sunday through Friday Revival meeting

[30:10] here at our

[30:12] church and my dad listened to the voice

[30:16] of the Holy Spirit and the elbow from my

[30:20] mom and he said no I I I don't I don't

[30:23] feel that and U so we didn't we had

[30:26] lunch with the preacher and wasn't like

[30:28] he asked him and he immediately said no

[30:30] they did some talking about it and but

[30:34] every time a service happens no matter

[30:36] where you're at spiritual warfare is

[30:39] going

[30:41] on we attended a church on a vacation

[30:44] and we G A Revival meeting and we had a

[30:47] few days and some people in our church

[30:49] they had a a houseboat on the Ohio River

[30:52] they said you can stay at our house boat

[30:54] for a few days enjoy the house boat of

[30:57] course we didn't get to really cuz it

[30:58] rained every day but we we got to stay

[31:01] on the house boat so we went to church

[31:03] and they're like you come to church with

[31:04] us so they went in and they sat in the

[31:06] auditorium for Sunday school and then

[31:08] they took us teenagers we went to the

[31:09] teen building the pastor walked us in

[31:12] introduced us to the youth pastor and

[31:13] everything we got to see all the

[31:14] excitement see all the stuff and the

[31:17] pastor left and at at 9:45 9:30 Sunday

[31:21] school started at 945 The Wall

[31:23] turned and out from behind the wall came

[31:26] the electric guitars and the drums and

[31:29] everything else and come to find out the

[31:31] youth pastor was using a different

[31:33] version of the Bible than the pastor was

[31:35] and uh it it was quite an interesting

[31:38] Sunday school

[31:39] class I came into the service and my dad

[31:43] says how was church how was Sunday

[31:46] school I said I'll talk to you about it

[31:48] later immediately the pastor comes how

[31:50] was Sunday school

[31:52] today I look at my dad I look at the

[31:54] pastor I look at my dad he said we'll

[31:56] talk about it later and we did and you

[31:59] know sometimes it's not just

[32:03] from the devil's working but he works in

[32:05] the lives of people and this church had

[32:08] a had a struggle and they ended up

[32:10] having a lot of

[32:11] problems because of attacks from the

[32:14] enemy because the enemy's tactic is to

[32:15] get you to question what God has said

[32:18] and get you confused about what God is

[32:20] doing the reason we give you those

[32:22] illustrations this morning is that every

[32:24] time a church assembles spiritual

[32:27] warfare's

[32:28] happening every

[32:31] time in some places across the globe

[32:34] it's even more

[32:36] evident that it's

[32:40] happening about five six years ago it

[32:43] happened here and it was evident that it

[32:45] was happening when the man that was

[32:47] attending was talking to himself during

[32:50] the

[32:51] service when he left the service and was

[32:55] crying out in the parking lot I couldn't

[32:56] do it I couldn't do it it and talking to

[32:59] some other force that was out

[33:02] there he had drawn his weapon during the

[33:04] preaching service and you know he had

[33:06] put it away and he got it back out and

[33:08] he put it away and he was struggling

[33:09] emotionally and mentally and I I I

[33:12] personally believe he was being

[33:13] tormented

[33:15] spiritually but it

[33:18] happens spiritual warfare happens it's a

[33:20] real thing and I'm not trying to Spooky

[33:23] make it spooky for you or scary for you

[33:26] but God's greater than that

[33:28] 1 John 4: number4 says greater is he

[33:30] that is in you than he that is in the

[33:31] world and we are on The Winning Side

[33:34] Satan is a defeated Foe and he is

[33:36] discouraged in the fact that God's

[33:38] people assembled together to sing to

[33:41] pray to worship to follow after the Lord

[33:44] he doesn't like it and so because he

[33:47] doesn't like it he tries to disrupt it

[33:50] and because he tries to disrupt it he

[33:53] causes distractions he causes dread or

[33:55] worry and then if he can't get you in

[33:57] the building as soon as you leave the

[33:59] building he's after you and all week

[34:02] long everybody here has been in a battle

[34:05] and number one point this morning there

[34:07] is a spiritual battle taking place

[34:10] Ephesians 6 it tells us be strong in the

[34:13] Lord and the power of His might verse 12

[34:15] we

[34:16] wrestle we

[34:18] wrestle everybody's in a spiritual

[34:21] battle we wrestle we have spiritual

[34:24] enemies he lists four different groups

[34:26] here we don't don't wrestle against

[34:28] flesh but against principalities against

[34:30] Powers the rulers of Darkness of this

[34:33] world against spiritual wickedness in

[34:35] high places in another account in the

[34:37] gospel in the Bible it talks about

[34:40] prayers being hindered and halted and

[34:44] Michael the Archangel having to fight

[34:46] against the enemies of God to let the

[34:49] prayers get

[34:51] through cuz Satan doesn't want your

[34:53] prayers going

[34:55] through he fights against it

[34:58] we'll talk about it here in just a

[35:00] moment but you and I have a

[35:06] Target you are a target of the enemy he

[35:09] is after you he is after serve your

[35:13] married he's after your family he's

[35:15] after your

[35:17] marriage he's after your life with God

[35:19] he's after your

[35:21] kids he is an enemy and we are the

[35:24] Target and we're targeted four different

[35:26] groups which were targeted on multiple

[35:31] fronts multiple

[35:33] fronts but he tells us there's this

[35:36] targeted

[35:38] group now Satan's

[35:41] tactics has always been the

[35:46] same one of the things that he loves to

[35:49] do is

[35:53] distraction he daily

[35:56] accuses the the

[35:59] Brethren Satan accuses the

[36:03] Brethren not

[36:05] always do the Brethren know that they're

[36:09] being

[36:10] accused by the

[36:15] accuser you know what one of his tactics

[37:08] you have to battle that we all have to

[37:11] battle that because guess what it's not

[37:14] the Brethren that's the problem it's

[37:15] Satan he's the distractor he's the

[37:17] discourager he's the

[37:20] enemy but he just accuses the Brethren

[37:23] he also brings about

[37:25] dread or worry

[37:28] second Timothy tells us God not given us

[37:29] the spirit of fear but of power and of

[37:31] love and of a sound mind so if you're

[37:32] dealing with fear and worry who'd it

[37:35] come from well it came from one either

[37:37] our own lust inside us our own weakness

[37:40] inside us or the planter of thoughts now

[37:43] Satan can't control what you think but

[37:46] he watches how you respond to the plants

[37:48] that he puts in your

[37:50] mind so he can't control how you think

[37:52] it but he watches how you respond to the

[37:55] thought and you got to decide to discard

[37:57] that thought or dwell on that thought I

[38:00] preached Chapel at elementary school

[38:01] just a few weeks ago Christian

[38:03] Elementary School and I preached chapel

[38:04] and I preached from that passage and I

[38:05] told the young people I said you got to

[38:07] decide to think it or trash

[38:09] it so I I had to we talked about

[38:12] different thoughts and I had them squish

[38:14] it in their hand and trash

[38:16] it some of you may need to do that in

[38:18] your own

[38:20] life some of you may need to do a a a

[38:22] physical

[38:24] motion those thoughts come in you may

[38:26] say uh-uh devil uhuh crunch

[38:30] boom spike it in his

[38:33] face no I'm not going there I'm not

[38:36] going to think like that whatsoever

[38:38] things are pure whatsoever things are

[38:39] honest whatsoever things are lovely

[38:40] whatsoever things are just if there be

[38:42] any virtue if there be any praise think

[38:43] on these things and if it doesn't make

[38:46] it through the

[38:48] filter boom discarded trash it so dread

[38:53] and

[38:54] worry another tactic Satan loves to use

[38:57] is

[38:59] difficulty difficulty think of

[39:03] job God allowed who to bring difficulty

[39:08] who brought the difficulty to job Satan

[39:10] delivered God allowed it Satan delivered

[39:13] it Andy sometimes the difficulties we're

[39:15] facing in our life have been delivered

[39:17] by the Devil Himself to you or his

[39:20] forces his emissaries have come to

[39:22] deliver difficulty in your life but

[39:25] greater is he that is in you than he

[39:27] that is in the

[39:29] world so we

[39:30] wrestle so he tells us in verse 13 take

[39:33] unto you the

[39:35] whole does your Bible say whole does it

[39:38] say some of the armor or the whole armor

[39:40] whole armor that ye may be able to what

[39:45] withstand wait wait wait wait wait

[39:48] wait if you only put the armor on all

[39:52] you can do is withstand

[39:59] if you only put the armor on all you can

[40:03] withstand but you cannot

[40:10] withstand you must take the sword of the

[40:12] spirit and the weapon of prayer to

[40:17] advance otherwise we're just defending

[40:20] so I want you to notice a few things

[40:22] this morning about what the armor covers

[40:25] list but notice some things things that

[40:27] armor covers he talks about the helmet

[40:30] of

[40:32] salvation the helmet of salvation what's

[40:42] thought life ought to have

[40:46] changed a saved head thinks differently

[40:50] than an unsaved

[40:53] head your thought life should have

[40:56] changed

[40:58] at the moment you accepted Christ as

[41:00] your savior you ought to have been

[41:02] working on discard trash it or think it

[41:07] you ought to started working on

[41:09] that there ought to be some points in

[41:11] our life say say people ought not to

[41:13] think like that come on S people ought

[41:17] not to think that they ought not to

[41:20] dwell on that so it tells us the helmet

[41:23] of salvation why do we need that because

[41:25] the sav thought life is different than

[41:27] an unsave thought Life 2 Corinthians

[41:31] chapter 10 verse number

[41:34] five and turn your Bibles there we're

[41:36] coming back to Ephesians so we won't be

[41:38] gone too long 2 Corinthians chapter 10

[41:45] five would help if I was in second

[41:47] Corinthians that was

[41:50] first second Corinthians chap 10 verse 5

[41:54] casting down imaginations in every High

[41:56] thing that exalteth itself against the

[41:58] knowledge of God and bring into

[42:01] captivity some of your thoughts that

[42:05] says bring into captivity those

[42:07] questionable

[42:08] thoughts no bring into captivity every

[42:12] thought every thought to The Obedience

[42:16] of who

[42:19] Christ every thought needs to be brought

[42:23] into The Obedience of Christ that is

[42:25] that discard it trash it or think

[42:30] it every thought it's a battle your

[42:33] thought life is a

[42:35] battle you ever thought

[42:38] things and thought where' that thought

[42:40] come

[42:42] from that came out of the the saying is

[42:45] that came out of left

[42:46] field I didn't see that one coming you

[42:49] ever thought things contrary to the word

[42:51] of God about

[42:55] God yeah you ever thought that God did

[42:58] something to you when in the reality of

[43:02] scripture it says he wouldn't do that to

[43:06] you you ever been there you ever thought

[43:09] things that you ought not to think you

[43:10] know why because you got spiritual

[43:12] warfare going on spiritual battle going

[43:14] on in your thought life he's after your

[43:18] thoughts so it tells us to cast

[43:21] down the imagination to bring into

[43:23] captivity every thought

[43:27] if I let my mind

[43:29] wander I end up in places I ought not to

[43:34] be Mama tells the little one they're out

[43:37] at the store stay close to me don't

[43:40] wander

[43:41] off because they wander off they could

[43:44] be in a dangerous

[43:46] situation they wander off hey you let

[43:50] your thoughts W off you're going to find

[43:53] yourself in some dangerous places you'll

[43:56] start thinking some things you ought not

[43:57] to think you're going to produce some

[43:59] actions in you you ought not to produce

[44:02] because the thought life so it tells us

[44:04] bring into captivity our thoughts the

[44:05] helmet of salvation secondly I want you

[44:07] to notice the breastplate of

[44:12] righteousness righteousness that covers

[44:14] your your your vital

[44:16] organs like where your heart

[44:21] is Proverbs chapter 4 verse 23 tells to

[44:25] guard our heart for out of it are the

[44:27] issues of life every issue of life is an

[44:30] issue of the

[44:31] heart so watch this your heart your seat

[44:34] of your emotions your thinker your

[44:35] feeler your your emotions so if I don't

[44:38] if I don't control my thought life he'll

[44:40] go after my emotional

[44:42] life and my

[44:45] feelings and how I feel affects how I

[44:49] think and how I think affects how I

[44:54] feel so Satan says

[44:58] vulnerabilities there's a spot of attack

[45:01] thought life and heart

[45:04] life so us to be clothed with the

[45:06] breastplate of righteousness not my

[45:08] righteousness because my righteousness

[45:10] is as filthy rags just as yours is but

[45:12] the righteousness of God ought to guide

[45:15] our hearts and control our hearts we got

[45:17] the breastplate of righteousness I need

[45:19] to move on uh we got the our our loins G

[45:23] about with

[45:24] truth it's the belt of truth that holds

[45:28] everything in place John 17 tells us Thy

[45:32] word is trueth he says sanctify them

[45:34] through Thy word Thy word is

[45:36] truth the word of God's what holds it

[45:39] together if you're going to battle the

[45:41] enemy you need the word of God the belt

[45:43] of truth of God to hold everything in

[45:45] place your feet shod with the

[45:47] preparation of the gospel of peace

[45:50] wherever you go you need to have the

[45:52] armor of God with you I don't have time

[45:57] The Shield of

[45:59] Faith he said take the shield of faith

[46:01] above all taking the shield of Faith

[46:02] where able you shall be able to what

[46:05] quench

[46:08] all all the fiery darts of the

[46:13] wicked now my dad used to call them scud

[46:16] Satan's scud missiles SC c u d Satan's

[46:19] continual undermining

[46:21] Deeds every fiery Dart he fires them at

[46:23] you boom boom you you ever wake up W up

[46:27] feeling

[46:28] attacked come on you ever wake up

[46:30] feeling you ever go to bed feeling

[46:32] attacked the enemy just constantly

[46:34] bombarding bombarding bombarding one

[46:37] person used to say I feel like the devil

[46:38] set up camp in my

[46:40] backyard and he's just always after

[46:43] me Satan's continual undermining Deeds

[46:46] The Shield of faith faith cometh by

[46:48] hearing and hearing by the word of God

[46:51] and the the faith in our life helps us

[46:53] to quench all the fiery darts of the

[46:55] wicked so in Ephesians 6 he tells us to

[46:57] take the whole armor after you put the

[46:59] whole armor on stand therefore and when

[47:02] you're standing you can withstand all

[47:05] the

[47:06] attack but you will not

[47:09] Advance you'll just

[47:11] withstand now notice in Ephesians 6 what

[47:14] he tells us

[47:16] next verse 17 take the helmet of

[47:19] salvation and the sword of the spirit

[47:22] which is the word of God

[47:27] offensive

[47:30] weapons the word of God Hebrews 4:12

[47:33] talks about the word of God it's sharper

[47:35] than any two-edged sword piercing even

[47:36] the dividing Center of Soul and Spirit

[47:37] is the discerner of thoughts and intents

[47:39] of the

[47:39] heart the word of God is an offensive

[47:43] weapon how do I handle Satan's attacks I

[47:45] cut it through the word of

[47:47] God how do I bring into captivity my

[47:50] thoughts through the word of

[47:51] God how do I keep my thought life right

[47:53] through the word of God how do I keep my

[47:55] heart life right through the word word

[47:57] of God your relationship with this book

[47:59] will either keep you from

[48:01] sin or if you ignore this book sin will

[48:05] have prevalence in your

[48:07] life God's word is stronger than that so

[48:11] the offensive weapon he says take the

[48:13] sword of the spirit which is the word of

[48:16] God so we're building and battling we

[48:19] talked about it in Nehemiah chapter 4

[48:21] everybody's in the battle right

[48:23] everybody's getting attacked spiritual

[48:26] warfare is on everybody you say well I

[48:28] don't feel

[48:30] attacked why why don't you feel

[48:35] attacked why don't you feel like the

[48:36] enemy is after

[48:40] you you ever wondered that there's only

[48:43] two reasons one is your defenses are up

[48:47] so he doesn't want to come after you

[48:49] because you're well

[48:50] defended or number

[48:54] two you're not bothering him

[48:59] so you're not a threat to him so either

[49:02] it's because you're so well-defended

[49:03] it's too much work for him or it's

[49:07] because you're not bothering

[49:11] him but you know where everybody else

[49:13] falls in the category uh we're under

[49:15] attack spiritual warfare got to deal

[49:16] with it every

[49:19] day the bed bed calls out your name stay

[49:22] in the bed a little longer don't get up

[49:25] read the word don't get up pray stay in

[49:26] the bed a little longer calls out to

[49:29] you especially during the last few weeks

[49:33] because it was cold outside the covers

[49:35] and comfortable inside the covers so he

[49:38] said if I stay under the covers oh if I

[49:41] get outside the covers no stay in get

[49:45] out stay in so there's that that Comfort

[49:50] battle but the sword of the spirit it's

[49:52] the word of God

[49:56] and most of the time most of the time

[49:59] when it is depicted in pictures or even

[50:02] in Bible lessons that we taught to kids

[50:04] years ago and flan graph stories and

[50:08] depictions we've got the whole armor and

[50:10] they've got a sword and they're standing

[50:13] but the greatest battling you and I will

[50:16] do is on our

[50:18] knees and the battleground of

[50:22] prayer and so he says praying always

[50:27] so we're

[50:28] battling it's an offensive

[50:31] weapon the sword of the spirit the word

[50:33] of God you ought to know God's word and

[50:34] you ought to know how to handle God's

[50:36] word you ought to know what God's word

[50:38] says but also

[50:41] prayer prayer is an offensive weapon

[50:45] that is to be wielded by every

[50:48] believer 2 Corinthians 10:4 we read 2

[50:51] Corinthians 10:5 go back to 2

[50:53] Corinthians 10 some of you still may be

[50:54] there verse number four

[50:57] for the what's it say

[51:01] there oh you're still turning I'll

[51:18] Warfare singular are not carnal But

[51:23] Mighty through God to the pulling down

[51:35] prayer every believer needs to use the

[51:39] offensive weapon of prayer we are good

[51:42] at praying when we need

[51:45] defending we're not so good at praying

[51:47] when we need to be on the offense

[51:49] against the

[51:52] enemy most of the time we pray after the

[51:55] attack not before the attack

[51:58] we don't prepare like we ought to on the

[52:00] battleground of

[52:02] prayer we ought to be in off it says

[52:05] they're

[52:08] Mighty you and I can pray Mighty

[52:13] prayers not just mellow prayers Mighty

[52:19] prayers they're so mighty they can pull

[52:22] down

[52:24] strongholds because of God strength not

[52:27] our strength but God's

[52:30] strength if you are only

[52:33] defending you will not be

[52:37] advancing if you are only defending you

[52:41] will not be advancing Matthew

[52:45] 16:18 Jesus says to

[52:47] Peter Peter Thou Art Peter and Upon This

[52:50] Rock I will build my church The Rock is

[52:53] the statement he made the verses

[52:54] previous in Matthew 16 when Peter said

[52:57] Thou Art the Christ the son of the

[53:00] Living God that's the foundation but

[53:02] then he said after he tells that Peter

[53:04] says and the Gates of Hell shall not

[53:08] Prevail against

[53:11] thee Gates Don't

[53:16] Advance they're to be Advanced

[53:21] upon the Gates of Hell shall not Prevail

[53:25] God's greater the Gates of Hell shall

[53:27] not keep unsaved people from being

[53:31] saved the gates of hell can't stop

[53:34] that the Gates of Hell cannot stop

[53:37] Christian Believers strengthening

[53:39] themselves in their relationship with

[53:40] God the gates of hell can't stop

[53:44] it what God wants to do in 2025 through

[53:47] Bible Baptist Church the Gates of Hell

[53:49] cannot

[53:51] Prevail we're to be charging into his

[53:55] territory we're to be battling through

[53:58] the word of God and through prayer and

[54:01] saying Satan we're coming after

[54:04] him unsaved people all

[54:07] around two things you and I can do pray

[54:12] and take the word of God to

[54:14] them pray and take the word of God to

[54:17] them missionaries across the field what

[54:20] can we do we can pray and help them take

[54:23] the word of God to

[54:24] them we talked to about in our Sunday

[54:27] School classes we're getting ready for

[54:28] Missions conference coming up here in a

[54:30] few weeks that churches are

[54:33] interdependent on getting missionary

[54:35] work

[54:36] done now it' be wonderful it'd be

[54:40] wonderful if a church could fully fund

[54:43] every missionary out of their Church

[54:45] it'd be

[54:47] wonderful but missions churches are

[54:50] interdependent upon other churches

[54:52] helping support their missionary that

[54:53] they sent out

[54:56] and so here in a few weeks we're going

[54:57] to have our missions conference and

[54:59] we're going to be passing out Faith

[55:01] promise commitment cards and making a

[55:03] commitment to God that I'm going to be

[55:05] involved in the work of missions with my

[55:08] finances and I may not be able to go to

[55:10] the field but my dollars can keep the

[55:13] missionary on the field and my dollars

[55:16] can help the missionary get to the field

[55:18] so that what's going to happen when they

[55:20] get their spiritual

[55:22] warfare so not only send your dollars

[55:25] but send your prayers

[55:26] ahead of

[55:28] time we ought not to be praying for the

[55:30] missionary Sunday afternoon we ought to

[55:33] start Saturday CU their service many of

[55:36] comes before

[55:37] ours so we ought to already be praying

[55:40] for their services sometimes I get

[55:42] missions updates from missionaries in

[55:44] the middle of the night because it's

[55:46] right after their church service and God

[55:47] did something fantastic in their service

[55:50] and they're all excited about what God's

[55:52] doing and it'll stir you up

[55:57] we don't need to pray for the missionary

[55:59] after we get the letter we need to pray

[56:00] for him

[56:02] before we ought to constantly be praying

[56:04] for them so I don't know where all the

[56:06] missionaries at there's a list out there

[56:08] get it pray it

[56:11] regularly we're going to have to update

[56:13] it

[56:14] eventually amen because we're gonna get

[56:16] more

[56:17] missionaries

[56:19] amen the the faith promise commitment

[56:21] cards are going out it helps us with our

[56:23] mission budget to be able to say hey we

[56:26] got x amount of dollars coming in hey we

[56:27] can help more

[56:28] missionaries or unfortunately some

[56:31] churches are having to say oh we don't

[56:34] have enough Mission dollars coming in so

[56:37] we got to cut some

[56:38] missionaries let's not be that church

[56:41] amen let's not be

[56:43] that let God is able let's commit to God

[56:47] God what would you have me to do it may

[56:50] be a dollar it may be $5 maybe $100

[56:52] maybe $200 maybe

[56:54] $1,000 or 10

[56:57] $10,000 maybe God saying Hey I want you

[56:59] to take that money that you got and go

[57:01] help

[57:02] missionaries March 9th we're going to

[57:04] have best Mission Sunday where the

[57:07] Hall's going to be with us with getting

[57:09] the Bible distributed in Southeast Asia

[57:13] I can't go into great detail right now

[57:14] about all the things that they're trying

[57:16] to do because we're live streaming right

[57:17] now but there's a great opportunity to

[57:19] get involved in the work of the ministry

[57:22] and getting the gospel guess what

[57:23] they're facing spiritual warfare

[57:26] you know what happened in every Sunday

[57:27] school class this morning spiritual

[57:33] warfare gathered together in my office

[57:35] with some men this morning it's open to

[57:36] any man who'd like to come join us but

[57:38] we gathered together in the office and

[57:40] we prayed and this morning we prayed for

[57:42] every single teacher by name that God

[57:45] would use them in the

[57:47] class before they got into the classroom

[57:51] before the students arrived we were

[57:53] already praying for that teacher to be

[57:54] used by God

[57:57] it's a regular

[57:58] occurrence to pray for people that are

[58:01] battling in spiritual

[58:04] warfare prayer is a weapon that every

[58:06] believer needs for the

[58:08] battle but you and I need to

[58:13] exercise our prayer

[58:16] strengthening this past Thursday I had

[58:19] the opportunity to go see the spine

[58:21] doctor who I first met just over a year

[58:24] ago well almost a year year ago my

[58:27] surgery dates tomorrow I believe is the

[58:29] oneye anniversary of the first spinal

[58:31] surgery I had last

[58:35] year so I got to go in and see the

[58:37] doctor they evaluated everything and

[58:39] they said to

[58:41] me you're doing great you're making good

[58:45] progress we don't want to see you

[58:48] again

[58:50] Hallelujah sounds good to

[58:53] me they said just keep progressing keep

[58:57] moving forward and I said what

[59:00] restrictions do I have they said

[59:02] whatever your body says no to okay and

[59:07] then they had to pause she goes now that

[59:09] doesn't mean you can go home and start

[59:10] like bench pressing 200 pounds we don't

[59:12] want you to do that you do have parts of

[59:15] your back missing and Hardware in

[59:18] there so you know what happened on

[59:21] Friday

[59:27] started strengthen in some

[59:29] things you know you know what's planned

[59:31] on the calendar this

[59:34] week some strengthening

[59:37] things because some things watch this

[59:40] over the last year gotten weak they need

[59:42] to be rest

[59:45] strengthened so have you exercised your

[59:49] prayer strength

[59:53] lately you you used to be able to pray

[59:57] for

[59:58] longer periods of time and more

[60:02] fervently and now has it gotten a little

[60:05] weak well good news exercise it

[60:09] strengthen that prayer life let the word

[60:12] of God strengthen your prayer

[60:15] life so he tells us to take the sword to

[60:19] take the weapon of

[60:22] prayer lastly this

[60:24] morning found in Ephesians

[60:28] 6 verse

[60:33] 18 praying always with all

[60:38] prayers prayer and supplication in the

[60:41] spirit and watching there into with pers

[60:45] all perseverance and supplication for

[60:47] All Saints we are

[60:52] watching Nehemiah put Watchmen on the

[60:54] wall they were watching

[60:57] and they were praying so we need to

[61:00] watch we need to pray with all

[61:06] perseverance we sang the song you were

[61:09] there just before the

[61:11] message and the verses say may I never

[61:14] question your unfailing love for me

[61:18] sometimes we prayed and he said wait and

[61:21] sometimes we prayed and he said wait and

[61:23] sometimes we prayed and he said wait and

[61:25] sometimes we prayed prayed and he said

[61:26] wait and sometimes we prayed and he said

[61:28] wait and you said uh no more

[61:31] praying don't

[61:34] stop we're to pray without

[61:38] ceasing but we're to pray with all

[61:41] perseverance and supplication for All

[61:46] Saints pray for one another I love how

[61:49] Paul wrote it to the Thessalonian Church

[61:51] in 1 Thessalonians chapter 5:2 this is

[61:53] what he said Brethren pray pray for

[61:59] us the heartbeat of every

[62:02] believer should be able to say to the

[62:05] Brethren Brethren pray for

[62:11] us

[62:12] amen you got to be able to look at your

[62:15] brother and sister and Christ said hey

[62:16] pray for

[62:19] us because spiritual warfare is after

[62:22] everyone everyone's a Target it's after

[62:24] you pray

[62:26] for

[62:28] us offensive Maneuvers are needed for

[62:32] spiritual

[62:34] warfare you got two weapons prayer and

[62:38] the word of

[62:39] God are you yielding them and wielding

[62:42] them like you

[62:45] want if all you do is put the armor on

[62:49] you're just going to

[62:50] withand offensive Maneuvers we ought to

[62:53] be charging the gates of hell

[62:56] we ought to be coming after Souls the

[62:59] heartbeat of the church is

[63:01] souls and one thing that helps is

[63:05] bringing in folks to remind us about

[63:08] mission's

[63:09] work because God's heartbeat is for

[63:12] people to be

[63:16] saved that ought to be our

[63:22] heartbeat the gospel the gospel

[63:26] the

[63:27] gospel getting it to a lost and dying

[63:31] world everything we do ought to flow

[63:34] through the

[63:36] purpose of reaching the

[63:39] lost and letting God's word change

[63:44] lives so two weapons you got and I got

[63:49] to battle in spiritual warfare it's

[63:51] prayer and the word of

[63:53] God so thankful

[63:58] ful for what God

[64:01] did in the

[64:03] church in February through May

[64:11] 2024 I wasn't in

[64:14] services but I'm thankful for what God

[64:16] did I prayed for you

[64:19] often many of you prayed for me

[64:22] often and I appreciate it so much some

[64:26] of you came and sat with me and

[64:29] encouraged me in person and prayed with

[64:33] me it was a

[64:35] blessing it was an

[64:39] encouragement my wife and I's World got

[64:41] turned upside

[64:43] down within a 24-hour time

[64:46] frame when you walk into a doctor's

[64:49] office and then you can't walk out it

[64:51] changes your day

[64:55] weeks few

[64:57] months when you battle the

[65:02] situations that the Lord allowed us to

[65:04] go through last

[65:06] year and you physically

[65:09] can't but you know that God spiritually

[65:12] can help even if you physically

[65:20] can't

[65:23] yesterday told my wife about about 9:00

[65:27] last

[65:27] night I said this time last

[65:32] year we were battling spasms that I was

[65:37] having severe painful

[65:40] spasms in my back in my legs my whole

[65:45] body would cause my body to tremor from

[65:47] the

[65:49] pain and at that time because of the

[65:51] test I had done the day before I was not

[65:53] allowed to take any medication

[65:57] to deal with

[66:41] uncomfortableness was still there but we

[66:45] knew God was in

[66:51] control we didn't know what was ahead

[66:57] you've ever ridden in an ambulance on an

[66:59] Oklahoma road it's very

[67:02] uncomfortable if you ever R in an

[67:04] ambulance having back spasms on an

[67:07] Oklahoma road with potholes in

[67:10] February it's not

[67:13] good I did that twice in the 24-hour

[67:16] time

[67:23] frame the physical

[67:26] part was

[67:28] difficult but the hardest

[67:32] part was the discouraging thoughts that

[67:36] the enemy was

[67:39] throwing and my wife and I's thoughts

[67:42] day after day after day and I get a text

[67:47] message I preacher I'm praying for

[67:50] you and preacher I'm praying for

[67:54] you where I'd

[67:58] get hey brard just want to come by and

[68:00] visit with

[68:03] you I'm very thankful for the woods who

[68:08] came especially the time in rehab

[68:11] facility when I was able to get into a

[68:13] wheelchair and kind of move around a

[68:14] little

[68:15] bit a couple men in the church that come

[68:18] at different times and had a little area

[68:20] outside we could go sit in we just sat

[68:24] there

[68:27] they

[68:28] just loved on their preacher and prayed

[68:31] him I'm thankful for

[68:39] 2025 if I could

[68:42] summarize I'm excited to see what God's

[68:44] going to do in the physical work and

[68:47] progress that we're making I'm looking

[68:58] advancements that it seems God Lord

[69:00] willing will allow me to do and the

[69:02] things that he's doing

[69:05] physically but to be perfectly
