[0:04] Hurricane Floyd delivers its most

[0:05] powerful blow in the Wilmington, North

[0:07] Carolina area. The center of the storm

[0:10] moves ashore.

[0:12] Powerful winds [music] whip the coast of

[0:14] the Carolinas, knocking out power to

[0:16] hundreds of thousands of phones while

[0:18] heavy rains and searching seas flood the

[0:20] streets.

[0:21] In Texas, [music]

[0:22] tragedy of another sort. Eight people

[0:24] dead, seven others wounded in a church

[0:26] shooting.

[0:28] Good morning from CNN Center in Atlanta.

[0:30] I'm Gene Randall

[0:31] >> and I'm Brian Nelson. We're following

[0:56] was last reported. That was just about

[0:57] an hour ago. So, the center of the storm

[0:59] is probably indeed just about to work

[1:01] its way inland. We did have a correction

[1:03] that came out of the Wilmington National

[1:05] Weather Service office. The winds are at

[1:06] 110 miles an hour as of 2 a.m. this

[1:09] morning. So, that still places us at a

[1:11] category 2 storm. And it looks like the

[1:13] trend is continuing for a northnortheast

[1:15] movement about 18 miles an hour. The

[1:17] problem has been the rain. You've got

[1:19] really saturated grounds across the

[1:21] region. For examp
