[0:03] >> I didn't jerk on you too hard. I don't
[0:04] know. I'm like
[0:06] >> Michael Jordan. Just one of hundreds of
[0:09] unforgettable interviews Ed Bradley did
[0:11] in his 35 years at CBS News. Thursday
[0:14] morning, we were all stunned and
[0:15] saddened by the news that Ed had passed
[0:17] away from leukemia.
[0:20] >> I'm Ed Bradley.
[0:23] With his salt and pepper hair, signature
[0:25] accessory of pierced ear, and pointed
[0:27] questions, Ed Bradley was the cool
[0:29] journalist.
[0:30] >> Like to be interviewed, I'd like to talk
[0:32] with you. That's the limit.
[0:34] >> As we sit here today, do you still think
[0:38] that it's acceptable to share your bed
[0:40] with children?
[0:41] >> Of course.
[0:43] >> Be it pop star, politician, or Hollywood
[0:45] celebrity, Ed Bradley could be
[0:47] confrontational when necessary, but he
[0:49] was always a smooth operating newsman.
[0:51] You wrote Blowing in the Wind in 10
[0:53] minutes. Is that right?
[0:55] >> Probably.
[0:56] >> It was at style and integrity that
[0:58] landed him a 2004 sitdown with Bob
[1:01] Dylan. The rocker's first interview in
[1:03] almost 20 years.
[1:05] >> If a lady treats other people as she'd
[1:08] like to be treated, then she's allowed
[1:09] to go and roll in the grass if she wants
[1:11] to. From Lena Horn, Muhammad Ali, Denzel
[1:15] Washington to Howard Stern. During his
[1:16] 26 years with 60 Minutes, Ed Bradley
[1:19] racked up a who's who of interviews. One
[1:21] of his most recent big gets sitting down
[1:23] with the other stripper and the accused
[1:25] in the Duke Lacrosse rape case.
[1:28] >> Ed had a wonderful u sense of the
[1:31] balance between his professional and his
[1:33] personal life. He loved what he was
[1:34] doing on 60 Minutes. He also liked to
[1:37] live the good life.
[1:38] >> How you doing?
[1:39] >> Doing fine. How you doing? I'm doing
[1:40] just great. health well.
[1:42] >> Yeah.
[1:43] >> In one of his last public appearances in
[1:45] September, Bradley was joking it up with
[1:47] CBS icon Walter Kronite at the News Emmy
[1:50] Awards in New York. A highly regarded
[1:52] member of CBS News, Bradley had been
[1:54] with the network for 35 years, including
[1:56] being injured while reporting during the
[1:57] Vietnam War. Ed Bradley passed away
[2:00] Thursday morning at the age of 65. He
[2:02] survived by his wife, Patricia.
[2:07] You know, he was such a pioneer in this
[2:09] business and somebody who was really one
[2:11] of a kind.
[2:11] >> Yeah. Both as a journalist and as a
[2:13] human being. Yep.
[2:14] >> We are going to shift now and turn to an
[2:16] incredible documentary about four women
[2:19] suffering from anorexia.
[2:20] >> Yeah.
[2:20] >> HBO is going inside the often
[2:22] life-threatening world of the women most
[2:24] obsessed with being thin. And their
[2:26] struggle is heartbreaking.
[2:31] >> Okay. And turn them over. Okay. Turn
[2:33] around, please. Okay. Now, I need you to
[2:36] drop the back.
[2:40] Okay. All right.
[2:45] I hate I've always been overweight and
[2:48] I'm never going to be fit.
[2:55] I want to be fit. I want to be
[3:02] >> It's not an illness of vanity. It's not
[3:05] something that people get so that they
[3:07] can look like movie stars or look like
[3:08] the models in the magazines.
[3:11] >> Then is HBO's Very Raw documentary
[3:14] exposing the torture of an eating
[3:15] disorder chronicling four young women
[3:17] who suffer from anorexia and bulimia.
[3:20] >> I came to Renfruit after a suicide
[3:22] attempt um over two pieces of pizza.
[3:29] I was counting calories and counting fat
[3:32] by the time I was 11. It
[3:34] >> was definitely an up and down struggle
[3:36] for Polly.
[3:38] >> Director Lauren Greenfield spent 2 years
[3:40] with 29-year-old Paulie, who was
[3:42] scheduled to do an interview with us,
[3:44] but was too sick.
[3:46] >> Happy birthday
[3:48] to you.
[3:51] It's hard to um film these women when
[3:55] they're eating and in general um that
[3:58] was a very sensitive situation for us.
[4:00] >> It's like really really sweet, like
[4:03] really
[4:04] like not good sweet.
[4:06] >> But I felt that that was really
[4:07] important to show how difficult each
[4:10] bite is.
[4:13] >> Struggling with every forkful, Polly
[4:15] took 10 minutes to finish her cupcake.
[4:18] Last one.
[4:22] and then doubled over in a panic.
[4:24] >> I swear I want to drop so bad I can't
[4:27] stand it.
[4:29] >> And you can see this critically
[4:30] acclaimed documentary. It's called Thin
[4:32] on Tuesday night at 9 on HBO. Coming up
[4:35] next, Hollywood's not the only place
[4:37] with a scandalous history. We went south
[4:39] to investigate a very naughty Nashville
[4:41] inside the crazy business of country
[4:43] music. That is straight ahead.
[4:52] No more secrets. Where are we going for
[4:54] our honeymoon?
[4:55] >> A romantic island in the south.
[4:57] >> Jamaica.
[4:58] >> Uh, credit card miles are blacked out. A
[5:00] little more south.
[5:00] >> Antigua.
[5:01] >> Uh, blacked out. Further south.
[5:03] >> Aruba.
[5:04] >> Getting warmer.
[5:06] >> Isn't this great? DID YOU NOTICE? NO
[5:09] BUGS.
[5:09] >> We got to SWITCH TO CAPITAL ONE.
[5:13] GET CAPITAL 1's no hassle rewards with
[5:15] no blackout dates, no earn caps, and no
[5:17] miles expiration.
[5:18] >> HEY, IT'S WALING SEASON.
[5:21] >> WHAT'S in your wallet?
[5:26] >> All right, honey. Okay,
[5:27] >> we Rockefellers
[5:29] have to come out of retirement to pay
[5:30] for all this.
[5:31] >> Relax. It's all from Walmart.
[5:45] Get all the fresh quality food you need
[5:47] at the Walmart price.
[5:54] >> TODAY
[5:57] young horse can go their way.
[6:03] >> All new Monopoly Here and Now edition.
[6:08] Can you keep your eggs from sticking?
[6:11] Yes, you can. With Pam, America's
[6:13] favorite nostick spray. Spray the pan,
[6:16] spray the spatula. With Pam, your eggs
[6:18] just come out better. Pam, America's
[6:21] favorite nostick spray.
[6:23] >> I have asthma, and even with my asthma
[6:25] controller medicine, I was still having
[6:27] symptoms. So, I hadn't taken out my old
[6:29] horn for a while. Then, my doctor put me
[6:32] on Advare. Since then, I've been having
[6:34] fewer symptoms and breathing better. So,
[6:36] I was ready to see if I still had it in
[6:38] me.
[6:44] >> I didn't know you could play like that,
[6:46] Dad.
[6:46] >> Neither did I, son.
[6:48] >> Neither did I.
[6:50] >> Advar is the one controller that treats
[6:52] the two main causes of asthma symptoms,
[6:54] airway constriction and inflammation.
[6:56] Advar contains Saluterol. In patients
[6:58] with asthma, medicines like Selerol may
[7:00] increase the chance of asthma related
[7:01] death. So, Advare is not for people
[7:03] whose asthma is well controlled on
[7:04] another controller medicine. Advare
[7:06] won't replace fast acting inhalers for
[7:08] sudden symptoms and should not be taken
[7:09] more than twice a day. Talk to your
[7:11] doctor about the risks and benefits of
[7:13] treating your asthma with Advare. If
[7:14] you're taking Advare, see your doctor if
[7:16] your asthma does not improve.
[7:19] >> Adv can help you breathe better.
[7:22] >> That's sweet.
[7:23] >> It's very personal. It was very
[7:25] traumatic and just um and it was very
[7:28] hard for my children. Sarah Evans
[7:30] divorce forced her off Dancing with the
[7:32] Stars and was a hot topic at the CAS
[7:34] where she performed on Monday night.
[7:36] However, her story is nothing new in the
[7:38] world of country music as Access
[7:40] investigates Nashville's biggest
[7:42] scandals.
[7:43] >> All of a sudden, country music's become
[7:45] really controversial.
[7:46] >> And she would know at just 17 years old,
[7:49] Leanne Ry sued her father for
[7:50] mismanaging her money. The two later
[7:52] resolved their legal issues, but during
[7:54] the struggle, Leanne broke down in front
[7:56] of her cameras. This is a really hard
[7:59] situation.
[8:00] >> I know it's tough. If I could say
[8:02] anything to it, just say that I love
[8:03] you.
[8:05] >> It's no secret many Nashville stars have
[8:07] long suffered from substance abuse.
[8:09] Willie Nelson, known for his love of
[8:10] marijuana, even confirmed rumors that he
[8:13] lit up at the White House.
[8:15] >> It's true. Yes, it's true.
[8:17] >> And a 73-year-old Willie is still going.
[8:19] Earlier this year, he was arrested and
[8:21] cited when this was found on his bus.
[8:23] And how about Glenn Campbell, who took
[8:25] this winner of a muck shop when he was
[8:26] arrested and later convicted for DUI.
[8:30] As for relationships, last year, Kenny
[8:32] Chznes swept Renee Zelwagger off her
[8:34] feet with a Secret Island wedding, only
[8:36] to get the marriage anul four months
[8:38] later. And Mindy McCriedi, already
[8:40] plagued by scandal of her own, suffered
[8:42] these bruises when she was allegedly
[8:44] brutalized by her boyfriend.
[8:46] >> I was crying and begging for him to
[8:49] please stop. I'm really hurt the most
[8:51] because he didn't choose me.
[8:55] >> He chose the drugs and the alcohol.
[8:57] >> Alcohol.
[8:59] >> And scandal continued through last
[9:01] week's CAS. Keith Urban was notably
[9:03] absent, slated to perform. Keith was
[9:05] instead in rehab.
[9:07] >> If you had asked me when I was a little
[9:09] girl if I thought anything like this
[9:11] would would happen in my life, no. That
[9:14] Dancing with the Stars interview was the
[9:16] last time we heard from Sarah Evans
[9:18] since news of her nasty split until she
[9:20] made her first public appearance at the
[9:22] Cas.
[9:26] >> But she didn't perform her hit single
[9:28] cheating. Perhaps now a song that hits
[9:30] too close to home.
[9:35] >> And just a hop in a scandal away from
[9:37] Nashville, Tennessee, Alabama's hometown
[9:39] Kuner is gearing up for his first post
[9:41] idol debut. And this son of the south
[9:43] sings his way onto the weekend express.
[9:51] Our first stop, we catch up with idol
[9:53] Taylor Hicks, looking considerably
[9:55] slimmer since we last saw him.
[9:57] >> A lot of it has to do with diet for me.
[9:58] I've kind of like I've kind of been a
[10:00] meat and potatoes guy. I was always a
[10:02] pretty healthy eater.
[10:03] >> Diet and a schedule that keeps him on
[10:05] the go. Taylor's putting the final
[10:06] touches on his post idol album. And it
[10:08] looks like even in the studio, Taylor
[10:10] can't keep that signature soul patrol
[10:12] slip under control.
[10:18] Can't wait for Taylor for your southern
[10:20] fix. Express catches up with Lone Star
[10:22] as they celebrate their ninth studio
[10:24] album, Mountains. The recent debut hit
[10:26] the top 10 and has struck a cord with
[10:28] fans. We've already started receiving,
[10:31] you know, emails and letters and people
[10:32] telling us that this song, you know,
[10:34] helped me get through this. We're
[10:35] finding that just our subject matter
[10:37] just touches people across the board.
[10:43] >> The Express makes a special stop for
[10:44] some diddy love, kissing, hugging, and
[10:46] caressing pregnant girlfriend Kim Porter
[10:48] as the two display their unabashed
[10:50] affection for one another in the
[10:51] December pages of Essence magazine.
[10:53] >> I'm so um thrilled
[10:56] black love. You know, we don't get a
[10:58] chance to see too much of that and we
[11:00] definitely demonstrate that. Right,
[11:01] baby? Come see us.
[11:05] Kim is carrying double diddies. Girls
[11:07] due this month.
[11:09] >> We can handle it, right?
[11:14] >> Next stop, Book Soup on the Sunset Strip
[11:16] where we find Kelly Preston coming out
[11:18] to support firsttime author Dominique
[11:20] Paul, whose book, The Possibility of
[11:22] Fireflies, already has a film in
[11:24] development with Guess Who playing the
[11:26] troubled lead. You guessed it.
[11:28] >> As an actor, I I am really excited. And
[11:32] we turned to Tomcat being friends and
[11:34] fellow Scientologists. And with Cruz and
[11:36] Holmes as nuptules on the horizon, we
[11:38] pressed Preston about RSVPing for the
[11:40] wedding. But Kelly played Coy. Oh, did
[11:42] she ever?
[11:43] >> I'm not saying anything. I don't know
[11:46] what you're talking about.
[11:51] >> And our final stop, Vanity Fair West
[11:53] Coast editor Chrisa Smith shows off the
[11:55] magazine's retrospective on their vanity
[11:58] section. I call it the second cover
[12:00] because it's one image. It's got to be
[12:03] very strong. It's got to catch your eye.
[12:05] You want to read it and it kind of opens
[12:06] up the whole magazine. We've had Sandy
[12:08] Bulock. We've had Russell Crow. We've
[12:09] had Leonardo DiCaprio. We've had Vince
[12:11] Bond.
[12:12] >> For closer inspection, pick up the
[12:13] current issue of Vanity Fair on news
[12:15] stands now.
[12:19] >> And straight ahead, the only man who can
[12:20] call himself James Bond. The new 007 is
[12:23] on Tim Vincent's trail. What happens
[12:25] there? Oh, but where does our favorite
[12:26] special agent get his killer fashion
[12:28] sense? The designs that James Bond would
[12:30] dawn hit the Access Runway. And ladies,
[12:33] some very special models. We'll be
[12:34] showing them off. We'll be right back.
[12:45] >> That was amazing tonight. You're so
[12:48] creative
[12:50] and the way you use your hands.
[12:53] >> We're totally in sync.
[12:55] and quick
[12:58] Abraham Lincoln.
[12:59] >> Yes. Egypt.
[13:04] Chicken.
[13:07] >> With Pictionary from Parker Brothers,
[13:09] the fun never ends.
[13:10] >> Maybe next time we should ask Tim and
[13:12] Nancy to join us.
[13:31] New Theaflu warming relief. The power of
[13:34] Theaflu in a unique warming syrup to
[13:37] soothe and comfort.
[13:39] Theaflu. Good to be back.
[13:46] >> This season you can rescue your hair
[13:48] from winter damage. Let it
[13:51] snow.
[13:51] >> Pantene Winter Rescue protects your hair
[13:54] from the icy wind outside and the drying
[13:56] heat inside with a provitamin formula
[13:59] that replenishes moisture for 10 times
[14:01] the protection against winter's wrath.
[14:07] >> Static is so last season.
[14:12] >> Pantene Winter Rescue. That's the beauty
[14:14] of health.
[14:16] >> It's new. It's easy to buy. No hassle or
[14:20] haggle. Just straightforward pricing.
[14:23] It's insanely affordable.
[14:26] You won't believe what comes standard.

[14:33] totally yours to customize with color,
[14:38] sound, lights, and more. At Gresham

[15:17] >> Access.
[15:17] >> I admire your luck, Mr.
[15:20] >> Bond.
[15:23] James Bond.
[15:24] >> Ah, yes. That was the original James
[15:26] Bond from James Bond Ultimate Edition,
[15:28] just out on DVD. And in New York City,
[15:31] Tim Vincent, our resident dashing super
[15:33] Brit, came face to face with another
[15:35] Dashing Super Brit. They're everywhere,
[15:37] Daniel Craig. and he brought along the
[15:39] first Bond reviews. Timothy, when Daniel
[15:42] Craig was announced as the new James
[15:43] Bond, the critics gave him the thumbs
[15:45] down even before filming started. And
[15:48] now that the film is about to be
[15:49] released, those same critics are eating
[15:51] their own words because Daniel Craig
[15:54] nails Bond. James Bond,
[16:01] >> I'm just going to read a couple.
[16:03] >> Daniel Craig is the best Bond since
[16:05] Connory.
[16:07] Craig's performance rescues the
[16:09] franchise from the trough.
[16:11] Craig is simply brilliant, oozing the
[16:13] kind of edgy menace that recalls Shan
[16:16] Conway at his very best.
[16:17] >> Wow.
[16:18] >> Did you realize you used?
[16:19] >> I don't know. Excuse me.
[16:22] >> Bond is back thanks to Daniel Craig. The
[16:25] British blonde blue-eyed stunner nails
[16:27] 007, but not before seeking some good
[16:30] advice.
[16:30] >> I know you spoke to Steven Spielberg and
[16:32] asked him. Stevens was has been very
[16:34] kind and his advice has been invaluable
[16:36] on this.
[16:36] >> Bird Daniels still made this Bond his
[16:38] own in the 21st installment of the
[16:40] franchise. He's a bit more rough.
[16:43] >> What was it like the first time you
[16:44] actually to say Bond James Bond?
[16:46] >> I said it on set, but that was it. That
[16:47] was the first time and last time I've
[16:48] said it since. I haven't said it since.
[16:50] >> And a bit more buff.
[16:52] >> What about the swimwalkers? All the
[16:54] girls love that.
[16:55] >> They're more speedo than Bermuda short.
[16:56] I know. But we sort of laid out about 10
[16:58] pairs in my trailer and Barbara and
[17:01] Lindy Hming. the costume designers we
[17:03] and I can't remember who it was but
[17:05] somebody went those
[17:06] >> that was it was probably a girl
[17:08] >> yeah maybe
[17:10] >> yes James Bond's swimwear is sure to
[17:13] make quite a splash in the new 007
[17:15] blockbuster and the question on every
[17:17] female movie go's mind how does he look
[17:19] so good in his clothes Hugo Boss helped
[17:22] our Nancy Odell solve the case
[17:25] >> so if you could describe Bond style in
[17:27] three words what would it be
[17:29] >> sexy self-confident
[17:32] sophisticated.
[17:33] >> Bond.
[17:36] >> James Bond.
[17:37] >> Strong man, always there for you and he
[17:39] can protect you. We just love that about
[17:41] a Bond man.
[17:43] >> And he looks good in anything he wears.
[17:46] Hollywood stylist Alli Scott teamed up
[17:47] with the Hugo Boss Rodeo flagship store
[17:50] to bring over 40 years of Bond fashion
[17:52] to our runway.
[17:53] >> Bring on the fellas. Bring it on.
[17:56] This is definitely reminiscent of the
[17:58] Shan Connory era. classic boss black
[18:02] tuxedo suit and it's that sophisticated
[18:04] sex appeal that only Shan Connory would
[18:07] have as the original Bond. He's o oh wow
[18:09] looking.
[18:11] This Daniel Craig model is what we'll
[18:13] see a lot of in Casino Royale.
[18:14] Reminiscent of Shan Connory and the
[18:16] classic sophisticated look, but then
[18:18] definitely has a sleeker style to it. If
[18:20] you women want your man looking dapper,
[18:22] slim fits the way to go.
[18:25] >> Here comes Roger.
[18:26] >> Roger more quintessential look. In the
[18:28] 60s they were a little bit more open, a
[18:31] little bit clean and cool. And now the
[18:33] Rico Suave. Still sexy and sophisticated
[18:37] and kind of looks like he'll go around
[18:39] saving the world without messing up any
[18:40] of his hair. Just ready to go. He's got
[18:43] the Dr. McDrini hair.
[18:44] >> Exactly.
[18:45] >> Our friends call me Jinx.
[18:46] >> I have friends call me James Bond.
[18:48] >> As we all know, Piers Broen die another
[18:50] day.
[18:51] >> He's got kind of the beach look.
[18:53] >> Looks like that he could do anything in
[18:54] this outfit. He could be running to
[18:56] catch a plane. He could be on the beach
[18:58] with a beautiful woman. You know, he's
[18:59] very I'm all about town, but yet very
[19:02] smooth.
[19:03] Oh my.
[19:06] Oh my goodness.
[19:08] Yep. This suits this Bond just right.
[19:11] >> What's not sexier than a Bond in a
[19:13] swimsuit? And this is what you'll see in
[19:14] Daniel Craig.
[19:15] >> That's not much of a bathing suit there.
[19:17] >> Not much of a bathing suit.
[19:18] >> How much is it per thread?
