[0:00] And good evening everyone. This is truly
[0:02] a momentous day. The Democrats have
[0:04] officially nominated Barack Obama, an
[0:06] African-American, to be president of the
[0:08] United States. It was both historic and
[0:11] dramatic as the woman he defeated,
[0:13] Hillary Clinton, called on the
[0:15] convention to nominate him by
[0:17] acclamation.
[0:19] Our political analysts Bob Sheaffer and

[1:06] cast their votes in the early going. But
[1:08] what they did is they worked it out.
[1:10] When it got to the state of New Mexico,
[1:12] they yielded to Illinois, Barack Obama's
[1:15] home state. uh Chicago Mayor Richie Daly
[1:18] then uh yielded to the state of New York
[1:20] and lo and behold, suddenly Hillary
[1:22] Clinton appears on the floor and moves
[1:24] that they uh uh nominate and elect
[1:27] Barack Obama by acclamation. They were
[1:30] they squee
