[0:54] >> Good evening. For the first time in many
[0:56] months, there were some hints of hope
[0:58] today in the Middle East, thanks to an
[1:00] emerging plan of cooperation between the
[1:03] United States and Saudi Arabia for
[1:05] applying more pressure. The first
[1:07] apparent result, the end of the Israeli
[1:10] siege in the town of Ramla, with
[1:12] Palestinian leader Yaser Arafat now free
[1:15] after more than a month as a captive in
[1:17] his own headquarters. But tonight, there
[1:19] was a new eruption of fighting in
[1:20] Bethlehem, threatening one of
[1:22] Christianity's holiest sites. CBS's Tom
[1:25] Fenton joins us with the latest. Tom.

[1:30] of the Church of the Nativity in
[1:32] Bethlehem tonight, apparently during an
[1:34] exchange of gunfire between Israeli
[1:36] soldiers and Palestinians. There were
[1:38] also sounds of explosions, but it's not
[1:41] yet clear who or what started the fire.
