[0:03] There's still time for him to say, "All
[0:05] right, I will get out." But he doesn't
[0:07] show any signs of it.
[0:08] >> Secretary Wmer, you were credited with
[0:10] the uh military buildup which is being
[0:12] put to use. Uh but there is one uh area
[0:18] which which has come to a lot of
[0:20] criticism. We have to go to Baghdad,
[0:22] Secretary. Uh we're we're going to
[0:24] Bernard Shaw in Baghdad, right?
[0:29] This is uh something is happening
[0:32] outside.
[0:34] Um
[0:36] Peter Arnett, join me here. What Let's
[0:39] describe to our viewers what we're
[0:41] seeing. The skies over Baghdad have been
[0:44] illuminated. We're seeing bright flashes
[0:47] going off all over the sky. Peter,
[0:51] well, there's anti-aircraft
[0:53] gunfire going into the sky.
[0:56] Uh we hear the sound of planes.
[0:59] They're coming over our hotel. However,
[1:02] we have not yet heard the sound of bombs
[1:06] landing, but there's tremendous
[1:08] lightning in the sky. Lightning like a
[1:10] fix. Bernie, I have a sense, Peter, that
[1:13] uh people are shooting towards the sky
[1:17] and they are not aware or cannot see
[1:19] what they're shooting at. This is
[1:21] extraordinary. The lights are still on.
[1:24] All the street lights in downtown
[1:26] Baghdad are still on, but as you look,
[1:29] you see trails of of uh flashes of light
[1:33] going up into the air. Obviously,
[1:35] anti-aircraft fire. We're getting uh
[1:38] starburst, seeming starburst in the
[1:42] black sky. We have not heard any jet
[1:45] planes yet, Peter. No plane. Now, these
[1:49] sirens are sounding for the first time.
[1:52] The Iraqis have informed us.
[2:01] >> Well, we heard Peter Arnett saying, "The
[2:03] Iraqis have informed us and then we
[2:05] didn't hear anymore this i
