[0:01] on the

[0:03] Serb forces are on the brink of

[0:04] capturing Bee Hatch with no signs that

[0:06] Allied forces can stop them. And the

[0:09] great afterth Thanksgiving homeward rush

[0:11] is underway.

[0:14] This is the CBS Evening News.

[0:22] Dana King reporting. Good evening

[0:23] everyone. Secretary of Defense William

[0:25] Perry admits the war in Bosnia has

[0:27] turned and UN and NATO forces are

[0:30] powerless to stop the Serbs from closing

[0:32] in on Bhatch. The best the UN can offer

[0:34] now is a ceasefire proposal. As Alan

[0:37] Pizzy reports, the Bosnian government

[0:38] has accepted that proposal, hoping it

[0:41] can still negotiate, not surrender.

[1:08] people trapped in Behatch is a UN

[1:10] ceasefire proposal. The Bosnian

[1:12] government has said yes. Now it's up to

[1:14] the Serbs.

[1:15] >> They have the whole day tomorrow to

[1:17] accept it. If they don't, then it's

[1:19] quite clear that they want to buy more

[1:21] time and that uh uh the UN and NATO

[1:25] should do air strikes.

[1:27] >> But the UN has more problems with the

[1:29] Serbs. As if be batch wasn't humiliation

[1:31] enough, today the Serbs shelled Canadian

[1:34] peacekeepers.

[1:35] >> So we consider it that it was a direct

[1:37] attack on a UN installation because it

[1:41] was so close to the compound.

[1:43] >> That
