[0:21] fellow astronauts and you still I'm sure

[0:24] consider yourself one it certainly must

[0:26] be just a very exciting and very

[0:29] interesting time for you but you're also

[0:31] in the business of briefing the

[0:32] president on what's going on and I'm

[0:34] sure he's interested as well yes the

[0:36] president is very interested very

[0:38] concerned of course with this flight and

[0:39] all flights and we're uh my staff and

[0:42] the council along with others have uh

[0:44] provided a focus for the White House for

[0:46] information with keeping them informed

[0:48] and helping them understand uh the

[0:50] processes that go on through this flight

[0:52] and this problem is this in a sense good

[0:55] for the Space Program

[0:58] Bill well I think think that uh we have

[1:01] this program that's uh designed to be

[1:03] forward-looking and balanced and I think

[1:05] that it's been also designed to be able

[1:08] to accept and cope with a the various

[1:11] hazards associated with an advancing

[1:12] exploration program of course as I said

[1:15] we'll stop and and evaluate the damage

[1:17] maybe this uh this pause will be a

[1:20] period of revitalization and and deeper

[1:23] analysis but it's my feeling that it was

[1:25] worth going to the Moon before Apollo 13

[1:28] it's certainly worth going to the Moon

[1:30] after it and Apollo 14 and Beyond and

[1:31] I'm sure that Jim LEL Fred Hayes and

[1:34] Jack schwager would agree with that and

[1:36] there certainly are going to be as many

[1:38] people Blas about the next trip as there

[1:40] were about the this one as it began well

[1:43] this is a very exciting stimulating and

[1:45] uh and hazardous business but one that I

[1:47] think is well worth the risk of this

[1:49] count
