[22:46] ought to remember is that sometimes in

[22:48] the Christian Life he doesn't give us

[22:51] details but he does require full

[24:32] Rowing for the wind was contrary unto

[24:36] them and about the Fourth Watch of the

[24:40] night he cometh unto them now if you've

[24:43] studied the Jewish daytime they're

[24:45] broken up from 6:00 p.m. to 6: p.m.

[24:47] that's their day they've got watches and

[24:49] hours so there's the hours in the

[24:51] morning and we have them broken down and

[24:54] then there's the first watch second

[24:55] watch Third Watch Fourth Watch after the

[24:58] the Fourth Watch comes the first hour

[25:00] which is 6:00 in the

[25:01] morning so the Fourth Watch is 3:00 a.m.

[25:06] to 6: a.m. now between 3:00 am and 6:00

[25:10] am. there's only one thing you should be

[25:12] doing

[25:16] sleeping they're

[25:18] not they're in the middle of the sea

[25:21] they're toiling and Rowing he sent them

[25:24] out when it just got

[25:26] dark now they've been in the storm for a

[25:30] while sometimes he doesn't give us all

[25:33] the details and sometimes he takes his

[25:39] time before he delivers us out of the

[25:43] storm sometimes he takes his time you

[25:46] say why does God do that you're asking

[26:17] the disciples he saw them toiling and

[26:20] Rowing for the wind was contrary now uh

[26:23] did Jesus not watch the

[26:26] weather did he not

[26:29] know no he's an all- knowing

[26:32] god listen he sent them out knowing the

[26:36] wind was going to be

[26:38] contrary he sent them to the other side

[26:41] knowing they were going to work at it

[26:43] knowing there was going to be some

[26:44] toiling and some

[26:46] rowing knowing that there was going to

[26:48] be some labor needed to get to the other

[26:51] side he still sent them

[26:54] out but they were never out of his sight

[26:59] now the Bible doesn't tell us but it is

[27:01] my personal opinion in verse

[27:03] 46 that when he went up to the mountain

[27:05] to pray he probably prayed for

[27:08] them knowing Jesus in his heart he

[27:11] probably prayed for them I don't have

[27:13] scripture that says oh Jesus prayed for

[27:15] them in the storm but I'm pretty

[27:17] confident he knew his disciples he knew

[27:19] their struggles he knew their needs he

[27:21] probably prayed for

[27:24] them so he prays for

[27:26] them by the way he does that for

[27:29] us he saw them toiling it R Fourth Watch

[27:34] of the night between 3 and 6 amm he

[27:37] cometh unto them walking upon the sea

[27:42] now here's an interesting thing the

[27:44] thing that's causing them Strife the

[27:46] thing that's overwhelming them the toil

[27:49] that they're facing the rowing that

[27:51] they're facing the winds that are

[27:52] splashing into the sea the winds that

[27:55] are overtaking him the waves that are

[27:56] splashing in all of those things Jesus

[27:59] just walks on top of

[28:01] that hey what overwhelms us and will

[28:04] take us down he can walk on top

[28:07] of he's not

[28:09] limited so he comes walking on the sea

[28:12] now this next phrase is

[28:15] shocking and would have passed by

[28:26] them what would have passed by them he

[28:30] was walking on the sea and he would have

[28:33] passed by them

[28:37] but when they saw him walking upon the

[28:41] sea they supposed it had been a spirit

[30:48] ship the wind

[30:50] ceased and they were sore amazed in

[30:53] themselves beyond measure and wondered

[30:59] for they considered not the miracle of

[31:01] the loaves for their heart was

[31:06] hardened the beginning of this section

[31:09] he feeds the 5,000 he asks Phillip if

[31:12] they would have an how much bread it

[32:00] Loaves and he gave them to his disciples

[32:05] them and the two fishes divided he among

[32:07] them all and they all did eat and were

[32:09] filled verse 42

[32:16] means they came to Jesus he broke the

[32:18] fish he broke the bread go give that to

[32:20] those people and they went and gave it

[32:22] to him and then they turned around got

[32:24] back in line and came back to Jesus and

[32:26] he gave them more and then they came

[32:28] back to Jesus again and he gave them

[32:30] more and he came back to Jesus again and

[32:32] he came more if they wouldn't come to

[32:34] Jesus they wouldn't have to feed the

[32:37] 5,000 they had to come to him to get

[32:40] what they needed they had to come to him

[32:43] to get what they needed you know what's

[32:45] going to happen in our lives we got to

[32:46] be reminded of we have to come to him to

[32:48] get what we

[32:53] need I mean let let's think about this

[32:55] these 12 men have handed out to over

[32:57] over 5,000 men besides women and

[32:59] children bread and fish and then

[33:01] collected the fragments that remained

[33:04] and filled 12 baskets full of the

[33:07] fragments that

[33:09] remained and now they're in a

[33:13] storm they're

[33:18] overwhelmed nowhere in here does it said

[33:20] that they called out and cried out for

[33:23] Jesus to

[33:25] come they were toiling and they were

[33:28] rowing they were doing their best to

[33:32] make it through the

[33:33] storm and their best wasn't working and

[33:37] they just kept a rowing and kept a

[33:39] toiling and kept her rowing and more

[33:41] waves splashed in and the water what

[33:43] waves that are high don't affect you too

[33:46] much until they get in your

[33:49] boat it's not the water outside that

[33:52] drowns the boat it's the water that gets

[33:54] inside the boat that drowns the boat and

[33:57] Our Lives we can get

[34:00] overwhelmed by all the storms of

[34:07] life the

[34:10] disciples considered not the miracle of

[34:14] the loaves for their heart was

[34:19] hardened and they get to Janes and all

[34:22] the people at Janet they bring all the

[34:25] sick people to Jesus they they don't

[34:28] hesitate they don't wait they're

[34:29] bringing them all why because they

[34:31] recognize what Jesus could do but listen

[37:57] time now it's 3:00 to 6:00 in the

[37:59] morning it's the fourth watch sea of

[38:02] galle is not so huge that it takes them

[38:04] all night to get

[38:06] across they're toiling they're rowing

[38:09] listen God knew the wind was coming

[38:11] before they got in the

[38:14] boat now here's the amazing thing about

[38:17] God sometimes God

[38:20] allows external circumstances to affect

[38:24] us on our Christian

[38:26] Journey Don't You listen to that

[38:28] sometimes God allows external

[38:30] circumstances and influences to affect

[38:33] us on our Christian

[38:34] Journey not all the bad things that are

[38:37] happening in your life are from

[38:42] God but they have been allowed by

[38:47] God there's a

[38:49] difference all this bad stuff's

[38:51] happenening in my life all this God's

[38:53] against me no my friend he's not against

[38:55] you he is for you

[38:58] you might want to ask God God are there

[39:01] other external forces that are at work

[39:05] in my life to hinder my growth for

[39:12] God many times in the lives of new

[39:15] Believers Satan gets a little

[39:19] agitated because God's doing a work

[39:22] Satan's had territory and now it's

[39:25] gotten taken away from him and he's a

[39:26] little frustrated about it and so he

[39:30] gets mad because he hates

[39:33] you Satan hates

[39:36] you so he wants to see you hurt and he

[39:38] wants to see you

[39:41] suffer you say what am I supposed to do

[39:43] why is God allowing this in my life it's

[39:46] always for our good for his glory and

[39:51] our

[39:52] growth it's always for his good for our

[39:57] good for his glory and our

[40:01] growth the the process of difficulty in

[40:05] our life is to help you

[40:08] grow to help you learn to depend fully

[40:12] on

[40:15] God so they're toiling and Rowing the

[40:18] wind is contct and he knew

[40:20] it I don't know how long he watched

[40:23] brother Glenn

[40:27] it says it was even when he sent them

[40:30] away and in the Fourth Watch they're

[40:32] just now in the

[40:34] middle and they're rowing and toiling I

[40:37] don't know how long Jesus

[40:40] watched and he

[40:43] waited but he

[40:48] did now the reason why he watched and he

[40:51] waited to soften their

[40:54] hearts because their hearts were hard

[40:58] he had to get them to a point like we

[41:01] talked about this morning with the

[41:02] prodal son every prodal has a turn to

[41:05] God moment but they don't all take

[41:08] it he softened their

[41:11] hearts they come to a point where he's

[41:14] walking on the sea they see

[41:18] him amazing thing he would have passed

[41:22] by

[41:24] them he would have passed by them he

[41:27] would have walked right past those men

[41:32] toiling and Rowing and gone to the other

[41:34] side and they' had got to janest and

[41:36] Jesus would have already been there they

[41:37] would wow how'd you get

[41:41] here and he said I walk on the

[41:44] waves he would have passed by them but

[41:47] he

[41:48] didn't there's a conjunction here the

[41:50] word but but when they saw him walking

[41:54] upon the sea they supposed it had been a

[41:56] spirit and C cried out for they all saw

[42:00] him and were

[42:04] troubled and immediately he saw he spoke

[42:08] unto them and said be of good cheer it

[42:13] is I be not

[42:19] afraid but he didn't just say

[42:22] it he stepped into the

[42:25] boat and when he stepped in the boat the

[42:28] storm

[42:31] ceased you and I need to remember look

[42:35] for the savior in the middle of your

[42:40] storm look for the savior in the middle

[42:45] of your storm because he's always

[42:49] near he's never

[42:52] far he's always near look for the savior

[42:57] in the middle of your storm you got

[42:59] overwhelming circumstances in your life

[43:01] things that are troubling you things

[43:03] that are taking you down look for the

[43:05] savior in your storm because he is

[43:09] near and then when you find him call out

[43:13] unto

[43:17] him do you think this situation of the

[43:20] waves and the

[43:22] storms

[43:24] affected the feelings of of the

[43:28] disciples

[43:30] absolutely they forgot the

[43:33] truth the truth that they heard in verse

[43:36] 45 go to the other

[43:40] side they forgot that

[43:43] part Jesus told him to go to the other

[43:45] side what did he want him to do to go to

[43:47] the other

[43:48] side they forgot that part they forgot

[43:52] to trust him at his word go to the other

[43:54] side they forgot that part

[43:58] and said the troubling circumstances of

[44:00] their life overwhelmed them and it

[44:03] messed with their feelings to the fact

[44:06] that Jesus watched this watch what he

[44:08] does he speaks to their feelings

[44:12] first and then he gives them the truth

[44:16] second be of good

[44:20] cheer why it is

[44:24] I be not afraid

[44:28] sometimes your feelings your emotions

[44:31] will speak so loudly that Jesus has to

[44:35] talk to your feelings before he can give

[44:38] you the

[44:39] truth because some of us let our

[44:42] feelings and our emotions control us

[44:46] more than the truth of God and his

[44:50] word he spoke to their emotions be of

[44:53] good cheer as I be not afraid

[44:57] brought peace in the

[45:00] storm they consider not the loaves

[45:03] because their heart was

[45:06] Harden don't forget what God has done in

[45:09] your

[45:10] life don't forget

[45:13] it don't forget the Miracles the

[45:17] blessings the other storms that he has

[45:21] calmed many a person have a prayer

[45:24] Journal where they write down prayer

[45:26] requests that they pray over I'd

[45:28] encourage you also to have a praise

[45:31] Journal of all the Praises of what God

[45:35] has done you might want to get another

[45:39] little pen or something that after your

[45:41] prayer request after God answers it you

[45:44] might want in a different color ink

[45:45] right next to it answered and the

[45:47] date because you know what that'll do

[45:49] for

[45:50] you after a period of time in your

[45:53] Christian Life you go back and you look

[45:55] at that you go wow answered answered

[45:58] answered answered answered we talked

[46:00] about it count your blessings name them

[46:04] one by one hey we can count our

[46:06] blessings name them two by two 3 by3 4

[46:08] by4 12 by 12 we've been blessed by

[46:13] God but we forget it so quick when the

[46:17] storms come the Trials

[46:20] come so

[46:23] tonight are you obeying

[46:28] are you

[46:30] overwhelmed in your feelings and your

[46:33] emotions don't blame

[46:36] God there are external forces at work to

[46:40] hinder your

[46:42] growth also for some people God does a

[46:46] work in their life God changes their

[46:48] life but they've got

[46:50] family and Satan wants to

[46:53] keep what he can keep

[46:58] and so he will fight the hardest to

[47:02] keep what he wants to

[47:04] keep don't let him

[47:10] win years ago there was a bracelet that

[47:12] came out saying WWJ D what would Jesus

[47:18] do like to flip it around DJ ww devil

[47:22] just won't

[47:24] win if you would do what Jesus does if

[47:28] you would live your life what would

[47:29] Jesus do and you let him direct your

[47:31] life the devil just won't win in your

[47:32] life if you live in obedience to God the

[47:35] devil won't

[47:37] win Ephesians 4:27 said neither give

[47:39] place to the devil live a life pleasing

[47:42] to God just

[47:44] obey the storms are going to

[47:47] come maybe difficult and some of you

[47:51] tonight your

[47:53] storms are overwhelming you right now

[47:59] some of them it's a health

[48:02] storm some it's a financial

[48:05] storm some it's a it's an emotional

[48:09] storm that you're dealing with some of

[48:12] you it's an uncertainty storm you don't

[48:15] know what's ahead and it's stressing you

[48:17] out but God knows he's already in your

[48:21] tomorrow and he knows what's ahead

[48:27] some of you your

[48:29] storm is because a loved one is dealing

[48:32] with a

[48:35] storm and you see the waves crashing

[48:38] into their

[48:40] boat and you see their boat getting

[48:43] worried down by the waves and the

[48:46] water it concerns

[48:52] you and you and you want to show up and

[48:54] you want to bail water for them

[48:59] but

[49:01] sometimes God's plan is for growth in

[49:05] their life not for just rowing and

[49:12] toiling sometimes God is at

[49:16] work in such a way that he wants to help

[49:19] intercede in the lives of

[49:22] people but people don't want to give him

[49:24] permission to board the boat

[49:30] because he sees what's going

[49:32] on few years ago a missionary in Mexico

[49:36] was coming back from the states and was

[49:39] driving down a highway and the traffic

[49:42] stopped and the traffic ceased to move

[49:46] he noticed multiple

[49:49] gunmen stopping the traffic on the

[49:53] road they went to the first car and they

[49:56] beat on the window the person opened up

[49:58] the door they talked to the person and

[50:00] they fired the gun and killed the person

[50:01] right

[50:03] there they came to the second car did

[50:05] the same

[50:08] thing there's multiple people on both

[50:11] sides with automatic weapons and they

[50:14] thought this is

[50:16] it they came to his car and they beat on

[50:20] the

[50:23] window and he had the doors locked

[50:27] he grabbed the handle of the

[50:30] door as soon as he did shots rang

[50:34] out and the man outside the window fell

[50:37] to the

[50:38] ground see the Mexican Army had arrived

[50:40] and they were now in a battle with this

[50:44] gang of soldiers and the army shooting

[50:46] back and forth at each

[50:49] other the missionary had his wife and

[50:52] his two young children in the car they

[50:54] opened up the passenger door there was

[50:56] was a ditch to the side and he scooted

[50:58] his children out the door his wife went

[51:00] out the door he unbuckled his seat belt

[51:02] and he climbed out and as he did his

[51:05] foot hit the

[51:07] radio he jumped out the car and rolled

[51:10] covered his family in the ditch as the

[51:12] bullets flew

[51:14] by and said it was a 25 minute gun

[51:18] fight see they had been listening to

[51:20] some Christian music on their CD player

[51:22] and when he jumped out of the

[51:25] car his foot hit the CD player and put

[51:28] it on a

[51:29] repeat and a song entitled He Knows My

[51:35] Name played on a

[51:39] repeat over and over and over again as

[51:44] he lay in the

[51:46] ditch protecting his

[51:51] family the Lord spared his family

[51:57] few months later he was back in the

[51:59] States sitting on the front row of a

[52:01] church service a youth choir had come up

[52:05] to sing a

[52:08] song and began to sing the song He Knows

[52:12] My

[52:14] Name that had played on the radio in

[52:18] repeat after the song the pastor noticed

[52:20] the missionary

[52:23] crying missionary came forward and

[52:25] shared the story with the

[52:29] congregation he said in those moments as

[52:31] the bullet

[52:33] flew I realized my savior knew exactly

[52:36] where I

[52:38] was knew exactly what I was

[52:41] facing knew exactly the location on the

[52:44] side of the road knew how to direct the

[52:46] bullet so they didn't hit my family he

[52:48] knew exactly where I was at because he

[52:50] knows my name every step that I take

[52:55] every move that I made every tear that

[52:59] I've

[52:59] cried he

[53:02] knows my

[53:04] name and that's not just true for that

[53:06] missionary in the ditch covering his

[53:08] family that's true for each and every

[53:10] one of you tonight he knows your name he

[53:14] knows every step you're going to take

[53:16] this

[53:17] week he knows the overwhelming

[53:19] circumstances that are in your life

[53:21] right

[53:23] now he knew

[53:29] just a couple weeks ago and when I sat

[53:32] at the door and spoke to Jerry Harris

[53:34] and she said preacher I'm ready to go

[53:35] home with me with the Lord he knew what

[53:37] the weekend was

[53:39] bringing he knew all about

[53:45] it last Sunday

[53:47] night during the message

[53:50] time my phone was up here I had it on

[53:54] silent and I got a text during the

[53:57] preaching

[53:58] time a few months

[54:02] back there was a man brother John

[54:05] Harris's life named

[54:07] Mark Mark had had a lot of issues in

[54:11] life Mark had a stroke we were praying

[54:13] for his

[54:15] recovery and every week in our men's

[54:17] prayer meeting we were mentioning Mark

[54:19] praying for his health praying for his

[54:23] salvation last Sunday night when John's

[54:25] phone r

[54:27] it was Mark Mark's had a rough life he's

[54:30] been in and out of terrible

[54:33] situations brother John doesn't always

[54:35] have a phone number for

[54:36] Mark loses his phone gets a new number

[54:40] that type of

[54:41] situation Mark called and said John I

[54:44] heard about your

[54:48] mom and then he began to cry and said

[54:50] John I need to be

[54:53] saved brother John last Sunday night got

[54:55] to lead his friend Mark that we've been

[54:57] praying for for years to be Sav got to

[54:58] lead him to the

[55:00] Lord listen

[55:02] listen I don't know how in

[55:05] Tennessee he found

[55:08] out about John's mom going home to be

[55:12] with the

[55:13] Lord I don't know how a man who loses

[55:15] his phone all the time and has to get a

[55:17] different phone remembered his number

[55:19] long enough to

[55:21] calling but God knew exactly where Mark

[55:24] was God knew exactly what to do God knew

[55:27] the exact moment to

[55:30] call now we'll get to see Mark in

[55:33] heaven because he accepted Christ as his

[55:38] savior listen we don't know why things

[55:41] always happen but God's always at

[55:47] work and the storms of your life may be

[55:49] putting a lot of water in your boat

[55:51] right now and you've been toiling and

[55:54] Rowing you're getting tired

[55:57] it's a

[55:59] struggle be of good

[56:02] cheer he is ready to step into your boat

[56:07] and say peace be

[56:09] still you got to call out to

[56:15] storms you got some toiling you got some

[56:17] rowing you're dealing with call out to

[60:20] sick and Miss Brandy is overwhelmingly

[60:23] sick right now

[60:26] she has pneumonia she's got fluid in the

[60:29] bottom of both lungs she has a double

[60:32] ear infection she has a kidney

[60:35] infection and five of her kids are sick

[60:38] right now so Mama's understand the

[60:42] burden that she's currently

[60:44] carrying she's got to have a surgery

[60:46] coming up in October I want to encourage

[60:48] you to pray for

[60:49] her pray for the family

[60:52] tonight pray for one another there are

[60:55] others right right now that Satan is

[60:57] working

[60:59] overtime you

[61:57] like that and uh you see the almost on

[62:01] every church church you see a pride flag

[62:05] um and something something of that sort

[62:08] and you ask just just the people there

[62:10] about about God and just about church

[62:13] and different things like that and and

[62:15] it's more of say what what are you

[62:17] talking about what are we talking about

[62:19] what God are we talking about are we

[62:20] talking about Thor or or something like

[62:22] that they don't really have a knowledge

[62:24] of Christ of the true of the true God

[62:26] just because of the the culture there

[62:28] and of the the very educated um society

[62:31] that they really think they are there

[62:34] it's just it's just really a different

[62:36] people group there and they need God

[62:38] they need Christ for sure there and uh

[62:41] the church there has been growing

[62:43] steadily and it's it's been a blessing

[62:45] we've been having uh uh very a a few

[62:48] visitors come this past Sunday which was

[62:51] our record-breaking number this past

[62:53] Sunday so it's been awesome to see the

[62:54] Lord uh work and grow and uh just uh

[62:58] just see that happening in in Boulder so

[63:00] it's thank you again for your prayers
