[0:00] And if the allegations are correct, this

[0:02] is no smalltime local operation, but a

[0:05] ruthless band with connections to

[0:07] terrorist cells around the world and

[0:09] including the United States who were

[0:12] bent on taking over Canadian media

[0:14] outlets and beheading the Canadian prime

[0:17] minister. Our first report tonight comes

[0:19] from Cynthia Bowers, who is outside

[0:21] Toronto.

[0:50] hostages, including Prime Minister

[0:52] Steven Harper, if Canadian troops

[0:54] weren't withdrawn from Afghanistan, and

[0:56] take over the headquarters of the

[0:58] Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to

[1:00] gain control of the country's airwaves.

[1:02] Prosecutors gave defense attorneys an

[1:05] eight-page document that CBS News was

[1:07] told outlined the general organization

[1:10] and operations of what they call the

[1:11] terror cell. At its center is the

[1:14] alleged ring leader, 43-year-old Cayam

[1:16] Jamal. Even before his arrest, Jamal

[1:19] already had developed a reputation as a

[1:21] pied piper of sorts, delivering

[1:23] anti-Canadian sermons at a local mosque.

[1:26] >> He prayed on the vulnerability of young

[1:28] teenagers. Tariq
