[0:02] I don't understand how somebody could
[0:03] hurt innocent children. I just don't get
[0:06] that. What did those poor babies do to
[0:08] you? That's the hard part. There's 20
[0:10] parents that were just told that their
[0:12] children are dead.
[0:13] >> It's a tragedy. It's a tragic scene.
[0:15] >> It is a tragedy for the nation. A gunman
[0:18] opened fire in a Connecticut
[0:20] kindergarten.
[0:21] >> Beautiful little kids between the ages
[0:22] of 5 and 10 years old.
[0:27] More than two dozen people are dead. The
[0:30] gunman's motive is still unknown. CBS
[0:33] News correspondents are on the scene
[0:35] covering the investigation of one of the
[0:37] worst school shootings in US history.

[0:47] [music] P reporting tonight from New
[0:49] Town, Connecticut.
[0:52] >> Good evening. The bodies of most of the
[0:55] children killed this morning, remain
[0:57] inside Sandy Hook Elementary School
[1:00] tonight, along with the bodies of six
[1:02] adults and the gunman himself. The
[1:05] firehouse behind me, decorated for
[1:07] Christmas, is where terrorized parents
[1:10] came to find out whether their children
[1:12] were among the living or the dead. Some
[1:15] of the victims were as young as 5 years
[1:17] old. President Obama said today what
[1:21] everyone is thinking. We have been
[1:23] through this too many times. Sandy Hook
[1:26] is a K through four elementary school
[1:29] with about 700 students.
[1:33] >> Somebody came into the room and shot a
[1:35] teacher. That's all I know. Sorry.
[1:37] >> Parents rushed to the school after
[1:39] getting roos that there had been a
[1:42] shooting. At 9:30 this morning, police
[1:45] say a gunman identified as 20-year-old
