[0:00] if I ask anyone to tell me a story off
[0:02] the top of their head it's going to be
[0:03] sloppy and what you'll do is you'll go
[0:05] down this u-shape because you take that
[0:08] story and you start to memorize it which
[0:10] always gets the feedback from people of
[0:11] Robbie I don't want to memorize it
[0:12] because then it's going to sound robotic
[0:14] it's going to sound rehearsed and
[0:15] they're right it absolutely does but you
[0:19] have to memorize it before you can get
[0:21] out of that u- shape so like as you come
[0:23] down the U it sounds rehearsed but it
[0:25] starts to sound more polished and then
[0:27] what happens is there's this moment
[0:28] where you go from memorized to all of a
[0:30] sudden it becomes internalized and when
[0:32] it becomes internalized you shoot up the
[0:34] U up to the top right where it now
[0:35] sounds both natural and Polished which
[0:39] is why the the best speakers when we all
[0:41] all see impromptu I put that in air
[0:44] quote speaking it's not impromptu
[0:46] they've told the story dozens hundreds
[0:49] thousands of times which is why it
[0:51] sounds so perfect my guest today is
